K-pop bands JYJ and TVXQ may confront each other at the upcoming premier event of the film “Big Match” for the first time since JYJ quit TVXQ in 2009, a local online media outlet reported on Monday.
JYJ members Kim Jae-joong, Park Yu-chun and Kim Jun-su — the three former members of then-five-member TVXQ — will attend the “Big Match” premier that takes place in Wangsini, eastern Seoul, on Nov. 24. They will support the lead actor Lee Jung-jae from the same agency, C-JeS Entertainment.
The two remaining TVXQ members, Shim Chang-min and Jung Yun-ho, will also be present at the event to support singer-actor BoA of S.M. Entertainment.
The two boy bands have never attended the same entertainment event since the split in 2009. The JYJ members filed for an injunction against S.M. in mid-2009, alleging their 13-year exclusive contract was unreasonably long.
The case dragged on till Nov. 2012, for three years and four months, when SM Entertainment and JYJ reached an agreement to terminate all contracts between the two parties and not to interfere with each other’s future activities.
The unprecedented encounter may pressurize the organizer over assigning seats for not only JYJ and TVXQ, but also their agencies.

I hope so… Like, I would love them to be together again, but the main point here (in my opinion) is their friendship! That’s what I wantbto see the most! The 5 being friends again, they were so close with each other! I’m also looking forward to JYJ meeting BoA, that traitor. No way, they even can not “meet” each other in a book (named KPOP NOW!, as I remember…) and in APAN award , a member of EXO showed up and Yoochun, as an potential candidates for rookies award, disappeared.

I’m not sure I’d describe Chen’s performance of his OST song as “going well.” For starters, the track they played was the full track, i.e. it had his lead vocal and everything so after a verse of that he stopped singing and apologized to the audience and asked the engineer to please play the track without the lead vocal. (How on earth did they get a track with his lead vocal and not even be aware of it???) Once the correct track was playing – I don’t know whether he was just rattled or what but he sang off pitch on and off throughout the whole song. (I saw/heard a video of it and it was pretty bad.)
I’m starting to wonder why JYJ has to bow out every time. What’s wrong with the two on the other side? Can’t they stand up for them ever? I mean, if you had some sort of connection before, (a brotherhood) can’t you see when things are getting too much, and make a stand? At least to stop the injustices. I think this is why it’s so hard to see those other two mentioned with JYJ. It’s like they don’t even try. Regarding this meet, if JYJ have to step aside for the other two once again, it’s going to be too much. Too much already…someone should say something.
I wish C-Jes all the strength and power possible so that they can fight this ridiculous double standards in this industry.

It makes for interesting news but I’m sure SM won’t let that happen. And if Homin don’t want it, it would be very uncomfortable for everyone. JYJ have expressed their desire to meet but I would guess not in such a public place, I would guess.
What is more interesting to me is the choice of photos for this article – cutesy JYJ and tough Homin. It really exaggerates but kind of defines the character of the two groups.

Since the split I never listen to TVXQ2 but once i was browsing YT and saw TVXQ Summer Time. I used to love that song and decided to listen to it for old time’s sake. What was my surprise when I saw just the two jumping around the stage, pouring bottles of water on themselves and singing merrily. I could not believe that they still sing the songs they shared together and feel no shame and no guilt for riding on what the other three had helped create. I couldn’t watch it even half way. I feel so bad that JYJ who composed and wrote the lyrics of some of the best DBSK/Tohoshinki songs can’t sing them any more but, just like you, I am so proud of them for standing against adversity and achieving so much.
I feel the same about their old songs, I can’t listen to them when only the other two sing them. But for different reason than you. What does HoMin has to do with what kind of songs they perform? 😀 They are not managing themselves… How do you know if they feel ashamed or uncomfortable or comfortable singing these songs? Please don’t be like a stan, think. Only the management of SM is to blame for the songlist of a concert, not the duo.
I wonder, there is a saying “the people deserve the kind of government they get – democracy or dictatorship”. So, if SM is to blame for the songlist the duo sings, who is to blame for the duo singing for SM? Are they really that spineless that they cannot refuse to sing the songs that may bring them painful memories? I don’t want to think so, I want to believe that they are at least a bit more guts than that.

For cjes I think they will send yoochun like usually the did. Yoochun attend almost every movie release of cjes artist, so it will be weird if he doesn’t came up for big match. That’s Lee Jung jae! One of the biggest cjes artist after choice min sik. I bet there’s one from jyj’s member will attend.

Well I’m not keeping my hopes up. SM will probably send another group to this event. But I must admit I was originally DBSK (5) fan, before JYJ. Although I’ve accepted that it’s a thing of the past. I think it will be good to see them get along well, while moving forward as JYJ and DBSK with no more bad blood. 🙂

I agree. This is a non-issue, designed by the media only to stir up trouble once again. JYJ has long ago transcended this nonsense over Homin and their ever mean-spirited overlords, SM Entertainment. JYJ are free, they are happy and fabulously successful, they are doing what they want to do and what they were born to do. These are all things SM told them they would NEVER be able to do again if they didn’t toe the line, shut up and go back to work. I’m happy for what they DO have and giving a big “who cares?” to what they don’t.
Yup, I have nothing against the duo. If the boys like it and they can stand over what their ^heads^ expect them to do, will be good. Else I always see any of such reports as marketing techniques only. So don’t expect me to make too much fuss over these news.

It’s been like 20 million years! I need SM to let it go! I hope JYJ and Homin both attend, but not necessarily to see each other. Personally I think either A) they do keep in some super secret contact or B) neither group has any longing to speak to the other (my choice is B because as adults, not saying this applies to this particular situation, no matter how much you may have loved someone, it is very possible to become completely disconnected from them and no longer wish to be with them, see them, or speak to them). They need to attend because it would show that they are five adults who can take charge of their own lives. CJES gives JYJ a ton of freedom. SM and Homin? Not so much. But this encounter might show that Homin is FINALLY taking the reigns of their lives and are able to be in the same building as JYJ. They don’t have to speak, but they can be adults and attend the same event to support their respective label mates.

I think if either do decide to attend the only reason should be is to support their label mates. I feel showing their support to their label mates is the number one reason only. I think the though of them meeting should not be their main reason for going. If they do meet fine, If they do not meet still fine. I think it has been so many years that if they meet one day they were suppose too. But if they never meet then it was never suppose to happen, no big deal, their life will continue to go on. I look at it as simple as this.

I don’t know what to say, but when it comes to JYJ with TVXQ, SM will do ANYTHING to make them not ‘together in the same time’ somehow.
So, I don’t think it will happen.
whatever happens it will be ok. they are all mature men who did care about each other a lot at one time. i think they still do in spite of any differences they have. its not like they are going on a picnic together. there will be lots of people around and plenty for them to be mindful of so i wouldn’t read too much into it.
I don’t see what this fuss is all about. If I go to the stadium to watch my team playing and you go to watch your team playing, I cheer up my team and you cheer yours. And normally fans of team A are seated on one side and of team B on the other side. So Homin go to cheer for BoA who is a share holder of their agent and badly needs their support as a so-so actress. JYJ go to cheer Lee Jung-jae, the lead character, as they always suport their label mates.
As the post says, the onus is on the organizers – to ensure such seating arrangement and arrival times that the two shall not meet and clash.
I tend to think that if they do cross their paths, JYJ may give a 10% bow and smile politely and go to their seats, coz they are generous and polite. On the other hand, as I have just been given to understand a little earlier up, the duo are a Pierrot and as such, they will act according to instructions and I won’t be surprised if those instructions are – avoid all contact or recognition.
Whatever they do, it will be a field day for the paparazzi – oh, so and so didn’t come because …or they came but…, or so and so looked secretly at so and so, etc, etc. and about 80% of it will all be based on imagination rather than fact.

If JYJ and the duo meet then I believe there will be just simple greetings from both or only from JYJ like you said because the focus should be on the actors/actress in the movie and it would be rude to take that spotlight away from them.
But then of course the media and OT5s would exaggerate the meeting between the two groups and spread their imagination as far as possible. And when that time comes I think most of the JYJ fans will just ignore and continue focusing on JYJ’s activities. Whether they meet or not either way nothing will change, JYJ will still be walking their path as JYJ and homin will be homin.

You said it best. You’re right, it isn’t important. TVXQ isn’t important – they’ve shown themselves adequately for all with the intelligence to see their characters and willingness to stand up and do the right thing. SM isn’t important and all the petty things they do to try to hamper and impede JYJ aren’t important – they inevitably amount to nothing and only make themselves look even worse in the eyes of the world.
JYJ are important. And looking at the photos of that gigantic Dome filled with excited, happy fans — looking at how beautiful and proud and how exuberantly JYJ are performing… that’s what’s really and only important.
I’m more worried that if JYJ goes SME will try some dirty tricks like having the networks not show them or having the organizer give them bad seat or there will be some “technical problems” or some other dumb petty stuff like they have been doing. SME has to be pissed they were not able to totally block JYJ at the Asian Games, they low enough to try for some payback! JYJ FIGHTING!
