Korean popular group [JYJ] talked about why they still receive unchanging love after debuting for 10 years.
JYJ held a press conference before their performance in Tokyo Dome in the afternoon on 19th. Questions were asked by reporters on the secret of them maintaining and boasting this unchanged popularity, despite the slump of Hallyu in Japan.
[JYJ] debut in 2005 as the group [Tohoshinki] in Japan officially, and will celebrate their 10th anniversary this year. Jaejoong said “We did not enter the Japan market riding on K-POP Hallyu book. Our case was a start by capturing a base in the Japan system, and this seemed a little different from those Hallyu artists in the Japan market now. Because we started with music written in Japanese right from the beginning, the mass probably view us differently”. After this, when asked to give some advice to those junior singers, he advised “I think it should be in a sequence where you start performing in a small space with fans, and then making it bigger gradually”.
[JYJ] performed in Tokyo Dome in 2010 and 2013, but Japan Dome Tour is a first this time. This is also the first time they performed in front of the Japanese media.
The Dome Tour and single release this time has a deep meaning being the start of full-scale Japanese activities of [JYJ], who could not conduct Japanese activities freely until now.
[JYJ] held 2 performances in Tokyo Dome on 18th and 19th, attracting 100,000 audience. 50,000 people in 1 performance is the largest capacity Tokyo Dome can accomodate, and the sold-out concerts is proof of their unchanged popularity.
[JYJ] will continue their Dome Tour from November into December in major cities Osaka and Fukuoka, and has plan to release their first Japan single in December.

[NEWS] K-POP Korean wave, not as good as it used to be, JYJ’s advice stands out more via Innolife
Great news for our boys ❤ ❤ They are so happy right now ^^
yes indeed JYJ start from the bottom when entered Japan market, i remember TVXQ interviewed when they talked how they started everything from bottom in Japan and how they insisted they didnt want break Japan market as K-po but as J-pop artist, thats why TVXQ/JYJ have very strong based in Japan.
Japan fans very lucky coz now JYJ have tour in Japan and i think they deserve it after a long long wait finally they can see again JYJ rise on stage . . .
Yes, Jejung, Yuchun, and Junsu may have started in Japan in a different manner compared to the other Hallyu idol groups, but perhaps the undying, unchanging love and support that they receive from the Japanese fans are because: 1) they lived in Japan for several years and lived the daily life of a resident as opposed to a tourist; 2) they were part of the first vanguard; 3) they collaborated with and befriended Japanese idols; and 4) they are each such special individuals that endeared themselves to the Japanese people.
Glad to see it stated that they sold out the Dome each day and 100,000 people saw their show and their popularity is unchanged. Sometimes I see things on Twitter and YouTube particularly saying they’re really not doing well or aren’t as popular, etc. It’s good to have continuing evidence to counteract the haters.
Congrats JYJ3…….
Indeed the princes of Japan.
They were what allowed their juniors to enter japan. They were the ones to lay down the pathway but sadly tho these junior groups are different from them. They didn’t take the time to really ingrain themselves with the Japanese people but really just road on the back of their seniors like DBSK and BOA’s popularity and power, the leaders. That’s why JYJ & DBSK are still able to maintain such high volumes of fan and support and why they are regarded on a different level.
yes, i agree,,,TVXQ/JYJ was the first who opened the door of japan market of others junior. so they have the biggest fan base in Japan….

yup….it’s truly true since they were the ones who opened the door of Japan market for their junior group also they are started from bottom and from the beginning they are debut as Jpop not as Kpop group, they lived the daily life of a resident as opposed to a tourist……they tried to adaptation with Japanese people, environment, system, and everything…so no wonder if they said that Japan is their second home……they are keep trying to reach their fans in Japan in many way
JYJ always keep the faith. I am proud of you.. Your history let me know your are the best.. Love and support u forever..💖💖💖💖💖
