let’s hope people having no money is the reason for the low number of sold copies,
and not one-member fans refusing to support the group activities.
that would be tragic – just us may well be JYJ’s best album!
Importantly for the guys though is that the album was their best to date, it had great songs and wonderful performances from each of them. They have something to be really proud of. The album will stand up over time, too. It’s not K-Pop fluff, it’s real music. Remember too, there are forces still working behind the scenes to keep JYJ OFF of charts and OUT of award shows. From that standpoint alone, I think this is a fine achievement for them.
not really, I think only jaejoong’s mini album “I” solde more then 240K , JS and JJ other albums were around 150K per one, but it’s because they had repackaged albums they surpassed 350K sales per comeback.
But I agree something went wrong bc this time they are JYJ means all the 3, and JYJ “in heaven” album surpassed 300K sales just in the first day… It’s sad to see that lack of promotions all these years had its effect.
ƪ(‾_‾)ʃ I don’t think I’m computer savvy.. I’ve been unable to get to final steps to check out or register on C-JeS. So it’s not that I don’t want to purchase; I haven’t figured out how. So I’ll keep enjoying them on YouTube.
Although I don’t trust SM sales (somehow they always have the sales), It’s sad to see SUJU album sold more than JYJ album (and I know it sold more than HoMin album too) the day came where SUJU surpassed DBSK in sales who could have imagined. It’s all about promotions at the end not the quality of the music.
One thing to be happy about is that when we put SM and its weird sales (at least for me) JYJ sold more then any other group or arist out there, No YG artist or JYP or Cube surpassed them even though JYJ had no promotions at all, and YG artists had all some great albums this year 😀
My feeling is that it’s impossible to trust any results SM has based on their track record for payola, behind-the-scenes manipulations, etc etc. Surely we don’t think that their dishonestly and willingness to bribe people to get what they want ends with their appalling behavior regarding JYJ’s many setbacks and disappointments. People occasionally quote me “facts” from various SM press releases in rebuttal to posts of mine, and my response is pretty much always the same: how can we trust ANYTHING this company asserts when we know that lying is an everyday thing for them and fixing outcomes to their benefit is something they’ve done for 20 years?
It’s really frustrating, they spent 1 million dollars for tv ads to promote JYJ brand, and Hanteo (more or less the actual sales) shows 87k only,
I think their balance sheets is negative. JYJ is undoubtedly talented but they lack some smart strategists to work with them, off setting the broadcast ban. Yes they are the bosses but they need some thinkers and movers to help them. From day 1, fans are wondering why are they not maximizing the use of their YT channel and so on.
I don’t think their balance sheets is negative, +156k copies and one copy worh 30$ good, besides this their concert tour (including japa, ) had sold more than 360K tickets (let’s not talk about the concert goods) , so I don’t think their balance sheets is negative because if they wanted they could have done 3 days per concert in Japan instead of 2 days. also they wouldn’t have done the encore in Korea with over 50K fan for free.
I’m talking about album sales vs. the production/promotional cost, concert/goodies are different matters. Well, who have seen their balance sheets anyway?, that’s just my rough estimate 🙂
I agree with you, jyjfan. The JYJ Corp. is doing brilliantly well, they are making millions. They have a fraction of the expenses that most groups have in order to keep their heads above the crowd of other idol groups vying for their spots in the public eye plus as we know, they are actually receiving the money they make, no small consideration compared to a group like EXO who suffer the double whammy of having to split everything they make 15 ways not to mention trying to survive the fabled SM accounting maze (money goes in but it never comes out again). People rail regularly about the lack of promotion, the lost chances to be seen on TV and as unfair as it is, it has not kept the members from earning a lot of money, branching out into other arenas where they can be seen, investing in real estate, etc, etc. How many different jobs does Jaejoong have, for heaven’s sakes! His work for Moldir must net him a pretty penny aside from everything else he’s doing. Junsu and Yuchun also have their solo activities, all of them have been successful, all highly paid.
My feeling is that a big part of the problem is that single member only fans refused to support the JYJ album. This was incomprehensibly counter-productive to me, it undermined the members’ hard work, their hopes and their long held desire to have a continued career in music as a trio. this is what they fought for so long and so hard for those 3 years of the lawsuit. This is IMPORTANT to them, to each member so not supporting their album so they will break apart and go their separate ways seems to me beyond divisive and hurtful to them.
Ahh, that frustrating moment when Jaejoong and Junsu’s solo albums sold so much better than all 3 combined.
*Side-eyeing those with money but decided to illegally download ‘-_-)v

It’s by supporting them that we guarantee we gon always enjoy them in YT…. but that Cjes though is getting on my nerves lately.
