[NEWS] Junsu Criticizes Announcer on Twitter for Rude Comments Toward Him and His Fans
Junsu of JYJ has spoken out about the remarks he received from announcer Park Sang Do during a promotional event that took place on April 23.
Posting on his personal Twitter, the singer said, “I’m not sure who the MC was… But I think, at least, you should have some manners. Putting side age, it was very rude to myself and the fans…”
In another tweet, he continued, “Everyone, I know something hurtful happened but let’s get over it~ More than anything, I had an opportunity to perform on a stage like that for the first time in a really long time. Also in my hometown, which made me very happy and proud. It was scheduled so suddenly but thank you so much for coming out, even if it was short! Good night everyone.”
On April 23, Junsu made an appearance at the opening ceremony of the Goyang International Flower Expo as the City of Goyang’s honorary ambassador. At the event, he congratulated the start of the event, saying, “I’ve grown up in the city of Goyang. I’m happy that I’ve been invited to such a meaningful event. My dad encouraged me to be here as well.”
At the ceremony, he performed “Loving You Keeps Me Alive” from his musical, “Dracula.”
The problem arose when the opening ceremony’s MC Park Sang Do from SBS made questionable remarks regarding the star.
“If you want to hear Junsu sing, you have to be good. If you are not good enough, I’ll send him away,” he said to the fans who have shown up to the event.
After Junsu finished his song and left the stage, the announcer commented, “Should we call him back again? If you can’t come back and sing more, at least say goodbye.” Confirming that Junsu has left the venue, he continued, “He really left? But we have more time? Even though three members of parliament waited, not even doing their speeches? The hallyu wave sure is scary.”
He was also reported to have said, “If the budget increases next year, maybe he will sing three songs.”
Announcer Park Sang Do, who belongs to SBS, debuted in 1993 with the broadcast channel. He is currently a host on SBS’ morning talk show “Morning Wide.”

After getting caught up in a controversy for making rude remarks toward JYJ’s Junsu and his fans during a recent promotional event, SBS announcer Park Sang Do has released an official apology.
On April 23, Junsu made an appearance at the opening ceremony of the Goyang International Flower Expo as the City of Goyang’s honorary ambassador. However, throughout the event, the announcer made disrespectful comments to Junsu and his fans while MCing, which caused many people to criticize his unprofessional and ill-mannered behavior. In response, Junsu’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, requested a formal apology from Park Sang Do: “The remarks made by announcer Park Sang Do toward Kim Junsu were problematic. There needs to be an apology.”
On April 24, announcer Park Sang Do shared his apology through Star News, saying, “I believe that as a host, offending a guest is a mistake that is inexcusable, in any situation. I am sorry. I will support Kim Junsu’s future activities. Once again, I apologize.”

Yes, it is very probably that SM paid him; otherwise, a seasoned MC should (and would) not have made such comments.
The MC should invite Junsu to his SBS program and apologize and promote Junsu’s Flower album and musical Death Note.
I am so happy that Junsu stood up for himself and his fan!!!! People like that MC need to be locked up and the key thrown away. I am also glad it is being reported that JS stood up for himself and his fans!!!!!
A good MC should have tact and avoid any uncomfortable situation for the organizers, guests and other invitees. This one is obviously not a good one

That’s a lame, pathetic apology. As usual, JYJ haters scurry out of their holes, do their damage, then like the cockroaches they are, try to hide. I’m glad his name is known to everyone now, and hope he doesn’t get off easy, just because he “apologized”. This man, and other people like him, need to know the wrath of JYJ fans, if they’re going to continue with this kind of treatment of them. After six years, it’s time to get over it already!
I am so glad Junsu stood up for his fans and am extremely proud of him. JYJ has had enough of this freakin’ bullish_t! I am certain fans will forever stand by JYJ. This MC should be fired or at the very least suspended by SBS even if this event is not in any way sponsored by his network. He isn’t aware of Junsu’s popularity? So sorry to rant like this but my channel this morning was on SBS (watched Yoochun’s drama earlier) and saw this old MC’s face. But I won’t let him ruin my day. Fighting for Junsu and JYJ forever!

SM et Cie, quelle honte. Junsu ssi est un vrai talent ainsi que Jaejoong ssi et Yoochun ssi qui ont réussi a dépasser toutes ces épreuves. Il n’ont pas réussi par pot de vin eux, mais par leur propre travail, volonté, courage. Ils n’en sont que plus méritant. Qu’ils ne s’en fassent pas, ils savent au moins qu’ils ont plus de mérites que quiconque. De toutes façons quand on vois ce qu’il se passe notemment avec les EXO et TAO en ce moment, l’image de la SM n’est pas vraiment en train de s’améliorer. On avait déjà bien compris que question éducation et dignité ils sont tout en bas du panier. L’argent peut donner beaucoup de chose, mais pas l’éducation !!! En français on dit qu’il y a une grande différence entre un grand homme et un homme grand. JYJ, sont de grand homme 😉
SM et Cie , what a shame . Junsu ssi iff is a real talent and Jaejoong ssi and Yoochun ssi and who have managed to overcome all these trials . It failed by bribe them, but by their own work, will, courage. They are just more deserving . They do not do, at least they know they have more merits than anyone. Anyway when we see what is happening with notemment EXO TAO and right now, the SM image is not really trying to improve. We had already understood that issue education and dignity are at the bottom of the basket. Money can give a lot of things, but not education !!!

I personally don’t think his rudeness has anything to do with SM, or him siding with SM. Judging from his age, his comments at the event, and his apology, I think he is just a typical Korean older man who thinks he can treat anyone younger (Junsu and his fans) anyway he wants, and bully them whenever he wants. There are a lot of older men in Korean like this. He probably wasn’t happy that his rundown or script was changed because Junsu accepted the invitation just a day or two before the event. Or he is just jealous of the popularity of hallyu stars. He probably would do the same to any other hallyu showing up with a lot of fans screaming. Of course, what he didn’t realize is if it wasn’t for Junsu, the event probably would have no noise, no news and very little people attending. At least they mayor of the town knew that and insist on inviting Junsu.
Am I defending him? Of course not! Do I think his apology is sincere? Hell no! But this is very typical Korean culture, the typical “bad” side of it.
