there’s somting wrong the begining sales were +500k and in heaven +300K
500k and 300k were just PRE-ORDERS figure as released by cjes, not actual sales
and The Beginning album has lots of versions, sales are recorded per edition. that’s why there are 2 The Beginning included in the top 50
Also, this is a soloist sales ranking, so what they did was to calculate the “solo sales” of each group by dividing their total sales by the number of group members. The sales of our JYJ albums, for example, has been divided by three.
Here’s only top 50 albums ranked per member. For example, The Beginning (Luxury Package) is not here, but it sold 92,649.
It’s 30,883 per member, so it’s on the 51 place.
In Heaven also was in several editions.
ah okay thank you I forgot that they were released by several editions
I’m so proud of the boys ^_^ love them so much<3
Reblogged this on twinklebee321's Blog.
JYJ Jae Joong, Yoochun, Junsu can not be Stopped because fans adore them so much & they are extremely talented. Wishing them many more years of success. #waitingforjaejoong
this figure is misleading. No wonder SNSD, and Exo are so low in the ranking despite their popularity because of the number of team members.
How is it misleading when the OP wrote the original sales numbers too before dividing for group numbers?
Is it not true that groups with larger number of members have a much greater chance to promote in different ways (e.g. variety shows, dramas, etc.) thus they have more visibility and a higher chance to gain fans, whereas solo’s only have themselves to rely on?
Anyways I saw nothing wrong with it ^^
lol Yes, that factor comes back to haunt them in a variety of ways. 🙂 Can you imagine how much any one member can be paid when in addition to SM’s ridiculously low royalty rate, they then have to take that small amount and further divide it up equally among all the members? It would seem to be SM’s infernally devious plan to keep the members lean and hungry so they can’t afford to hire expensive entertainment lawyers….
OMG, LOVE YOUR COMMENT! The last part had me laughing outloud! 😂😂👍
Excellent – they are so talented! Well done ! We love them .# Waiting for JaeJoong
All I see is that album sales for Korean singers really suck. No offense. And no wonder the boys are happier putting out solo albums than group albums. If solo albums are selling more than group albums, why in the world would they put out a group album? Especially when group albums are going to cost more to produce than a solo album.
Group albums cost less to produce than a solo album.
Korean singers get real money not from album sells. It’s from concerts, merchandise and commercials. Albums are only for promo.
It’s easer sell tickets for whole group than for solo consert. For group JYJ can sell doms. But they need promotion.
When I see this list, I wished Yuchun would’ve had a solo album too.
Looking at the chart, it’s so regretful Jaejoong started as solo singer very late, and basically he’s only active and released albums in 2013, just for one year. ( Not mentioning the very inefficient agency who used the “out of stock” card during first week of album release and Seoul concerts, and refund fans’ pre-order, one and only in Kpop history 😦 ). In Jan 2014, he just released repackaged WWW and did some concerts, and simultaneously did Triangle, Just Us album and concert tour preparation. He has so much to offer but too little time and now he’s in MS. But looking back his one year feat as solo singer (2013) , if you apply that sales per individual analysis in this chart, JJ slays 😀 , he’s the only solo singer up there and just how many people for each group above him.

@ Kris,
Great conclusion ! Our JJ is the best.
It surprises me that JJ’s album Y, which the agency refused to provide enough supplies, got up on the ranking as well. How an agency would sell an artist’s album as a limited product is just confusing.
DESPITE of all the roadblocks, JYJ /Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu are simply exceptionally talented so even lacking all the exposure/promotion ALL of the others have, they still EARNED a place in that list! So freaking proud of them! In the end, talent and hard work will speak for itself.
