Excerpts from Yuchun’s interview with Sina:
Sina: So far, among the roles that you played, which one is your favorite?
Yuchun: I like the role of a boatman/seaman in Haemoo. Although the roles and the occupations I encountered while filming dramas were new, but the occupation of being a boatman/seaman was something unfamiliar to me. That’s why all the experiences I got there are very new…that’s why I’m happier. Usually, while filming dramas, one has to look neat. But while being a boatman/seaman, their work clothes are originally very dirty so nobody would say anything even if I lay there. Everyone even said to go and roll on it to get the feel of it, so it’s a little comfortable. Aside from the seasickness, the rest of my experiences are very happy.
Sina: In TGWSS, there was a proposal scene…have you thought about your own proposal scene?
Yuchun: When I was young, I have thought about doing a special wedding proposal. I had that desire to do something new that others haven’t it done before. But now, I don’t have those thoughts anymore. Is it not good if when eating together, I’ll just casually say, “Let’s get married”? I heard women doesn’t like grand proposals, but when they receive one, they actually like it…is that right? No? They said it’s not right…so I guess that passed-on message is only among men.
Sina：In the drama, you drank a very hot coffee…is it special effects? What’s the filming situation at that time?
Yuchun: The atmosphere was very good, although the staff initially gave me hot, but actually, when eating or drinking… when drinking, they would usually give me something a little bit colder or other drinks/beverage because there are times when the director doesn’t say “cut”. Usually when the drink/beverage comes around my mouth, the director has to say “cut”, otherwise I have to drink down the hot drink/beverage. And because it’s too hot, there were usually NGs. The hot coffee is mostly CG. I would usually receive a hot one, then I’d get a lukewarm one. Then they use CG to draw the warmth of the drink…that’s how I drink it.
