JYJ member XIA Junsu will be releasing a solo album in October.
On September 13, his agency C-JeS Entertainment announced, “Junsu will be releasing a solo album in October. He will also go on an Asia tour to meet his fans in the country and abroad.” They further added, “This is Junsu’s return in seven months. The album will consist of a variety of songs, ranging from ballad to dance, that suit Junsu’s voice and the fall season.”
Junsu most recently released his third album “Flower” in March of this year, topping various charts. He also performed on national TV for the first time in six years with the album.

Junsu isn’t as popular as he was once before. Unless you can generate 5,000 fans in your home city, then don’t count on Junsu visiting there.

@sadas well you are wrong, isn’t bigbang the trending band lately Taeyang concert attendance outside korea like china is 2000 ~~3000 fans, 5000 fans isn’t a condition to hold a concert and btw both jaejoong and junsu hold concert in some countries for less than 5000 fans. and take note that those you call unpopular are the one with the biggest concert attendance. because junsu has the biggest concert attendance among solo idols in Korea, and jaejoong has the biggest concert attendance among solo idols internationally.
It’s true though, about needing the numbers to be right before an artist can complete a touring itinerary. It has to make sense financially
or the artist can lose money touring.

I think that is a very unfair statement. I live in the USA. I would expect there’s only 3 cities in the U.S. that would qualify for a tour and that’s New York, Los Angeles or Chicago. I would travel to any of those cities in a heartbeat should Junsu do a concert there. But I don’t live in any of those cities. I don’t know promoters there. I was very impressed with the group that handled the recent Epik High tour in the U.S. Junsu should hire them to coordinate a U.S. tour.
I have started to learn Korean in order to be more helpful and to be able to understand what the boys are saying if I ever get myself to Korea.
I do think CJes could do more to increase the interest of fans outside Asia, most particularly to provide translations and subtitles in English and Spanish.

But Epik Highs tour was amazing and the halls they played were big enough but not too big.
I do think it is not easy to bring a tour outside of Asia, especially for the kind that needs more fancy stage, big group of dancers, bands, etc. Big Bang will tour US next month in 3 locations, LA, Vegas and Newark, only Staples Center and one of the two Newark shows sold out now (btw, I’m flying to Newark to watch them). Epik High being a rap group is a little different with what they need on stage, smaller venue actually works to their advantage. And YG has a lot of contacts and some staff in the US, it may be more difficult for Cjes.
Of course if JYJ, Junsu or Jaejoong ever holds concert in the US, I will go no matter what city it will be (I almost went to the JYJ Return of the Kings last year, it was only because of work schedule I couldn’t). But I do believe whatever they do, it needs to make financial sense. Don’t forget, I think 80%+ of the foreign currency brought in from Kpop are from Asia (Japan always leading the way, China catching up now). A singer/group can just hold a concert in one of the Japanese domes and bring in about US$4 million revenue per night, that’s hard to resist.
I wonder if JYJ won’t tour more widly once they finish MS?
And JS might announce a wider tour if album sales are good and there is lots of interest.

At first I was like, “Wait a second. Flower was released this year right? How come there’ll be a new album again this year?”.
But then I’d be like, “Yeah whatever. Finally we’re able to hear new materials from our beloved Junsu before he enlist in around 2016 *my own estimation*. Bring it on Junsu hyung!”

Read so many positive feedback on the news of Junsu releasing solo album in Oct. Some even have predicted the quality war among singers who are releasing albums in Oct or around Oct. /grin/

YEAH!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy to hear this news!!!!!! How ever many times Junsu can release an album in a year will always be super awesome and make me a very happy person!!!! I just cannot get enough of hearing his incredible voice!!!!! I absolutely loved Flower to death, it was so hot!!!! I cannot wait to hear what he brings this times!!!!!

I’m shocked by the news like yes I know junsu was going to prepare something for fans before he leaves but I absolutely didn’t expect to be that fast I mean he has just finished his musicals that was really tiring….. I’m not complaining btw 😀 looking forward the album although I’m still impressed by Flower album and hooked to its songs
I’m not surprised with this news, but that means he will be enlisting soon after that which is probably early next year. I’ve long given up that he will ever hold a concert in my country, but i’m just happy that he can still do what he loves, making music.
Yes another album! Junsu is really working hard to give us material before he enlists. For those who complain about there not being a world tour… there really has to be a guarantee for the concert to be a success for it to pay for him to travel so far with his crew. It’s super expensive and a lot of work to bring a tour all over world to every continent and not to mention completely exhausting for everyone involved. And he’s just about to enlist! Please be reasonable. 🙂

This is my personal opinion but I was not at all surprised by this news. In fact I expect still another album around March/April. I believe JYJ planned very carefully the dates of their enlistment and Junsu will enlist around June/July next way. That way they will leave us without any member only for 6 months but Junsu will have left enough to keep us going. Then 6 months later JJ will come out and start filling up the vacuum and before we know it, they will start coming out one by one.
Yes! I believe you are exactly right. I try sometimes to explain that to people I follow on Twitter who are critical of Junsu for not entering the military closer in time to JJ and Youchun.
I agree with you and shahera5 – I think their MS has been carefully thought out and the album releases planned to intersperse the waiting time. I’m thrilled that Junsu has another album coming and another tour. He gets better and better, as they all do really, as he goes and I have to say it’s thrilling to think that a mere 6 months after he goes to the army, Jaejoong will return to us. I predict he will come back like a hurricane! I can’t wait to see what he will do. 🙂
yes i agree too! there is a method to everything they are doing and i love them for it. it will be quickly when they are all together again! they are really smart and loving of their fans to do so much for us.
That’s good planning if they really do that. JYJ always have their ways … to survive.. That’s why they are still popular and get more fans despite of the “banishment”
