Note: Kim Jaejoong and the rest soldiers couldn’t reach the stage because of the big crowd >.<

Was there suppose to be more people singing then teh five that was there?
Well, we see now how he and the others got away from the crush of people. These must have been Jae’s people..they looked like they knew crowd control. I am so impressed by the way he is looking for his other buds. And the smile on his face when he first emerged from that crowd of people. Goodness!!! How can he not know what a super star he is? Remember how he cried and ask for his fans protection in his last concert….protect him and love him. Yes they and his international fans do love and want to protect him….
Well, that shaman woman must have known what she was talking about when she prophesied that one day this young boy (Kim Jaejoong) would do great things and will be a hero Youngwoong. He proved it tonight. He was like King Gwanggaeto the Great who led his soldiers into battle and when they were surrounded by the enemy, with one look rallied them around and spearheaded an escape corridor for them.
Our Hero Jaejoong, never lost his nerve, never looked for help, he was worried only about the safety of his soldiers but with one look he rallied them around and turned disaster into victory.
I wonder if the Korean army never had a mega star like Jaejoong sing at their events to know what a crowd puller this man is. They now know.
I hope they now promote PFC Kim Jaejoong one rank higher for keeping his wits arpound in a difficult situation and taking his troop to safety without abandoning their mission 🙂
yes! a well deserved promotion^^
It may be that someone will get a reprimand or a demotion perhaps for allowing such a stampede of people. Jae did come out at the top of the malay in more ways than one! I wonder if the darkened stadium field had anything to do with the loss of crowd control. Dumb move on the part of the planners!
It may have turned out messy and the 2nd song was aborted but I’m still very grateful that there was no drama of cancelling his appearance and replacing him with SoMeone’s most influential celebrity. As far I know there are 3 SM idols in MS now. If that was an outside affair, I don’t know if JJ could be introduced as the Greatest Star in Asia by KBS.
Yes I think things were a little messy in turns of crowd control and the second song was aborted. But I truly deeply felt JJ and the other soldiers performance. The performance was awesome!!!! And JJ handle the situation like the super star and professional he is. It was heart warming to see how JJ was concern for his other buds. From what I saw and heard from the crowd reaction in the fancams I believe that everyone truly appreciated the performance and walked away happy that they saw it. The ironic thing is that the crazy crowd messness only showcased how a true superstar JJ really is. Know one cannot deny that he is loved by many fans and he is a true professional performer.
OMG, that was like a war and PFC Jaejoong is a true hero. Luckily he did not get hurt. The crowd loved him and I think the org is panicked now by his popularity .
Were the people on the field all athletes or fans from the stands?
I think they were athletes and staff.
Fans were at the bleachers, I think it’s impossible for them to get inside the field as the ceremony was still going on. Here’s a fancam clearly showing that those people were athletes/performers.
@ Kris Thanks for this clip. Although I was streaming live right from the beginning my screen froze just a few seconds before this started so I missed to see precisely what happened.
It is clearly the organizers mistake. After their march past all athletes converged on the stage and the grass around the stage. Then they were asked to go back on the tracks for the official ceremonies to take place. They had all those speeches, handing over to the next city where the next games will take place and then two groups of dancers. When the last dance ended they didn’t announce what comes next but said they would extinguish the “olympic” fire and dimmed the lights at the same time raising the globe. This was probably done in the belief they would create suspense. However, the athletes, who right from the start had wanted to be on that stage and don’t understand the Korean language anyway, probably rushed to the stage in the beliief that the ceremony was over.
Now, as I see from this clip that’s the time Jaejhoong and his group came out singing, not knowing the stage was occupied by the athletes. Then he found the crowd was too thick to penetrate and claim space on the stage so he made a roundabpout turn, gave signal to his soldiers to follow him and stood on the tracks where there were less people. The athletes who understood what was happening also followed him there. Among that forest of bodies, hands and cameras Jaejoong sang at the top of his lungs and saved a disastrous situation.
It turned out for the better as the athletes started clapping and singing with him and it became a song of the people as the Arirang is truly meant. to be.
Soldier Jaejoong judged the situation and made a quick decision, took command and brought his troop to safety, never abandoning the mission. He deserves a promotion for this btrave action and strategic decision made on the spot;.
Thanks @ jjeyelash, kris and anna liza p.m. for your reply! From looking at the video I too think it was the athletes/staff or athletes/performers on the field and not the fans. @ anna liza p.m. I totally agree with your statement: “It turned out for the better as the athletes started clapping and singing with him and it became a song of the people as the Arirang is truly meant. to be.”
JJ was able to sing amongst the people in which the song is all about. I am sure it surprised everyone that JJ was mixed in the crowd like that. He came across that he was too like the people. It made the performance even more warm and touching. I totally feel the people appreciated and felt his sincerity and warmth in the performance. The performance was a totally success!!
So agree with you, Flower. All is well that ends well…however, it was scarey for JJ and the others I’m sure. I’ll say again, I hope this doesn’t keep him from performing in the future. The military or whoever is in charge next should get with JJ’s people on how to handle his SUPER STAR FANDOM!
Thanks for posting @Kris and thanks to anna Liza p.m.for the review, so well so clear as I rewatched today again..I’m once again moved by our Jaejoong’s gesture, his courage, his performance among such closed crowd. Only one word can describe : Jaejoong is the world most professional artist .He never forget about his mission, nothing can drag him down!
Thank you very much to all the fans who shared their fancams. I’m also a fan to fans with their unwavering support. They traveled from places (there were even IFans), braving the rain and cold with their super lenses to capture a historic event. Some people are shaming again the fans for being disrespectful when there’s no way they could go to the field. Look who were swarming JJ, first I thought they were mostly Asian female athletes but…

I’m just glad that everyone was okay. That stampede was serious, but Jae handled it like a pro.
