Yoo chun: “Realizing that even when you are going through the hardest time of your life, that moment in itself may be happiness. Realizing that you are happy not because you are having a good time, but that being able to go through the hard times and keep going with your life in itself may be happiness”
Jaejoong: “No matter how hard life is, you are your own architecture. If you give up then there’s no one that can help you, but if you want to keep building your future, then no one can stop you either.”
Yoo Chun and Jae Joong. You shine like beacons in the darkness guding others on their way. Everybody has some kind of talent but it takes hard work and persistence to develop, master and bring it to the level you have. That’s why you are achievers and others are miiserable losers.
I admire and aspire to be like you, at least to some little extent.
I thought Jaejoong donated blood not for money, but for the bread because he was hungry.
If I remember correctly, it was a small packet of crisps and a bottle of soft drink. He was often hungry coz the little money he earned he first paid for the training, then his tiny room, and if anything was left he would buy some food. That’s why his dream was to own a supermarket so he could always have food available.
I remember that too, that was why I was wandering then where was his family .
Were his family that poor so he never got money from them ?? Is it because his family members are so much .. Like 8 girls and him so they couldn’t help him !?
All I know is that when he got famous, they all appeared haha

JJ’s parents owned what we could call an eatery on the ground floor of their house and lived on the upper floor. That was probably enough to provide basic necessities for a family of 11 but not for much else. JJ has been quite open about his financial difficulties and hardship on the talk shows he used to attend while in DBSC, e.g. he said that while at school others used beepers to call, he didn’t have one so he had to call the girl he liked using public phones. Also when, after two years of talking with her on the internet or public phone he finally saved 3,000 won which was enough to put him on the bus to go to visit her at her home which looked like heaven to him.
He left home at the age of 14 to audition. He only had money for a one way ticket to Seoul. The audition fee was small but he didn’t have the money. It’s his sister (who now owns a hambok shop) that gave him the money. In Seoul he worked in the morning on a building construction site and at night washed dishes at a restaurant, in-between he would pick up any other odd job like selling sweets and bubble gum on the street or delivering grilled chicken. He always walked from one job place to the other listening to songs and singing, trying to imitate the singer. It’s while he was doing this that he saw the above quoted blood donor place.
Yes,they took him in but didn’t take him seriously , his mother didn’t even know then that he sings. Anyway Jaejoong fought hard at young age, that is why he is so strong now. Just love him endlessly .
Truly remarkable people.
Both of them are wonderful!
I think working hard and striving for success,.you begin to realized your self worth…the struggles in overcoming them is the thing that gives you strenght..the narrower the road,,the bigger the challenge…that’s why i choose JYJ to admire and support.

A bit of info:

Junsu’s mother:
“We lived in a one-room that didn’t even have a bathroom. I felt so terrible to my kids that I ended up crying one day. Junsu came to me, wiping my tears away and said, “When we grow up, we’ll become great people. So later, we’ll buy you a house that looks like a painting.”
I think this was when he was very young. His family’s financial difficulties probably improved over time.
I always think Junsu had a happy childhood. I assumed he had a good upbringing, loving and financially stable family to care for him so he was able to concentrate on and finish school.
@nuyc Ah, sorry, we must have been writing at the same time and you finished a little ahead of me. Yes, I agree with everything you said, May be I have just added a couple of details.
@nuyc thanks so much for your reply!
@ Flower Junsu had a happy childhood in the sense that he grew up in a close-knit family with a loving mother and father and the company of a brother. However, they were far from being well off. The father was a primary school teacher and they lived on his salary. The mother was quite ambitious. She had been a Miss Korea contestant and a singer. She had dreams of becoming a star. The twins inherited their singing talent from her. Junsu’s ambition was to fulfill his mother’s dream and become a star and buy for the family a house “like a picture”. His mother also wanted him to play a musical instrument. Thus he is the only one of JYJ who actually was taught how to play the piano. When in lower primary school he joined (together with Eunhuk) a dance group. He joined SM as a trainee at the age of 11 and was the longest serving trainee of SM (6 years|).
Junsu’s frustrations and hard times came when, just before he was to debut with 2 other SM trainees, his voice changed due to puberty, so he could not debut and felt guilty that the others also couldn’t debut.
While voice mutation in boy’s puberty normally takes a few month before it stabilizes, Junsu’s continued for 3 yrs during which time there were periods he could not sing. He also could not reach the notes he had previously been able to reach. He was advised by a doctor not to sing at all for a period but Junsu became rebellious and would screech loudly especially the notes he couldn’t sing. It’s believed that this is what caused his high-pitched speaking voice. Several times he almost gave up on his training as a singer but his mother stood by him and encouraged him all the time till finally, he was the first one signed for DBSK and debuted end of December 2003.
I am sure most fans know all this info, but since you asked, and may be there are other new fans who don’t know this, I have given you what I can recollect.
Jaejoong had the hardest life as a teenager, not because his family didn’t give him love, but because he left them and went alone to Seoul and believed he shouldn’t burden his family financially and is grown enough to take care of himself.
@anna-liza p m thanks very much for the reply.
JYJ is a walking insipiration, they’ve been always fighters in this life and they are still.
definitely how could SM think that two dependable people like jaejoong and yoochun who made huge sacrifices in their life to pursue an artistic career, could just stay like a puppets waiting for SM to use them the way they wish, definitely they are not the kind. I’m proud who they become now each one of them achieved great things in his singing and acting career. born free people indeed.
