Despite not being able to promote his music on broadcasts and music shows like any other artists in South Korea, JYJ member Kim Junsu still quite well for himself as a successful musical actor and solo artist when he’s not following activities with his groupmates.
Though having gone through hardships himself after breaking off from the group TVXQ (SM Entertainment), Junsu’s big heart has revealed itself through various charitable donations as uncovered by netizens who lists his achievements, gaining praise from those coming across this published post on Instiz.
Below is a translation of the post.

Is there a reason you started giving?
When I left my previous agency. I’m thankful for everything right now although some may say that my situation of not being able to appear on TV is unfortunate, I am happy that I am able to release albums still and do concerts and perform on musicals. As I realized this me and the other JYJ members all thought we should give more.
XIA Kim Jun Su successfully finished the last show of his Asia tour in Taipei.
On December 5th, a representative of C-JeS Entertainment said, “JYJ’s Kim Jun Su held the last show of ‘2015 Kim Jun Su 4th ASIA TOUR CONCERT IN TAIPEI’ in Taipei, Taiwan. Approximately three thousand fans attended the concert even thought the show was held on a weekday, and Kim Jun Su made another unforgettable memory with his Taiwanese fans.”
During the concert, Kim Jun Su tried to communicate with the fans with Chinese that he studied as much as possible. After finishing the opening performance, Kim Jun Su said in Chinese, “Hello, everyone. This is XIA. Welcome, all of you, to my concert (大家好。 我是XIA。欢迎你们。)” Kim Jun Su also continuously asked “Are you all having fun (你们开心吗)?”
Kim Jun Su also talked about many different foods that he had in Taiwan and special tourist attractions that he visited before.

Previously I wrote a detailed account on the Nagoya concert on the 28th November (here) however, that was me, objectively translating and recounting on what Junsu said during his talk ments. Through this post I wanted to share about a few things I observed while attending first hand and will try my best to describe adequately how the atmosphere was like and how it felt to be there.
Every single second, I feel blessed to be able to attend a concert and to be able to understand what JYJ are talking about without having the need for a translator. Been that road before.. wasn’t fun.. Having a translator at the venue only complicates things and sometimes a few things are missed out during the transition of languages.
Junsu dances so well, but this is something I realised even more after seeing the IDMYO dance crew dancing live. Their level of dance and technique is definitely pro (but of course) however, our Junsu even huddled between them dances so well that you’d actually downplay the pro dancers ability (I know i did). When Junsu appeared for the first time on stage and performed Out of Control and Turn it up back to back, he was panting very heavily and had to wait for a minute or two so he could speak (this was the start of Ment 1).
I previously attended the 2015 XIA 3rd Asia Tour Concert in Japan, and compared to that time I felt a bit of a difference in Junsu. However, it might just be because of the different city venue and the difference in the progression of the tour, previous concert was in the first leg of the tour. Junsu was more chatty this time around and he interacted more with the fans. Usually he interacts and talks to fan most during genie time however, in Nagoya (day 1) he pretty much interacted with once during each ment.
Talk recount recap:
1. During the age group check, Junsu said the people in the front are making faces during the teens fan chant. And when he moved to the 30s, he said those same people’s facial expression has become better.
2. Junsu said sorry to the woman who said ‘I’m healthy!’ when Junsu said people in their fifties and above don’t need to overexert themselves.
Even though Junsu did not interact personally, these two occasions clearly shows that he is looking at everyone properly, he is listening. But during the Japan concerts you get to see Junsu struggling with Japanese and he honestly asks everyone to help him, and is literally learning on stage. This adds to his interaction with the Japanese fans.
Story from the moving tram on the corridors between 2F and 3F
Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment has had a very great year. He established the group BIGBANG on top and successfully launched the new group iKON. International superstar PSY once again sweeps the music charts as CL’s debut in the the US market is moving along smoothly. Also, YG Entertainment’s representative stars PSY and BIGBANG both renewed their contracts with the company.
His ability to pursue calculated risks and musical sensibility have been essential ingredients to the company’s success. He sat down for an interview as 2015 comes to a close and as he looks into the future. The interview took place on December 1 right after PSY’s press conference.
After discussing PSY’s success and his latest hit songs, Yang Hyun Suk gets asked which other songs he is currently enjoying. He answers, “I like the song “Dream” which is dedicated to singer Shin Hae Chul. People of my generation have memories of him and can identify with the song. I actually fell for JYJ’s Junsu’s voice after hearing the song. I felt bad that I didn’t recognize his talent all this time. I can see why he’s so popular. I’m going to recommend that he gets on stage with PSY during his concert. I’d like to see him on stage myself.”
Kim Junsu said, “Although I was inexperienced in doing a featuring at that time, I really liked getting to sing ‘Dream’,” and, “It was an enjoyable work and the finished song just captivated my heart,” through his agency C-JeS Entertainment on December 4th. Continuing, he added, “It is PSY-hyung who I meet when coming and going from the entertainment industry and became close with through this opportunity. It was a meaningful work”.
The song that Kim Junsu participated with featuring, ‘Dream’ is included in PSY’s seventh album ‘Chiljib PSYda (literal trans: The Seventh Album, It is PSY)*’. It is a dedication song for the late Shin Hae Chul.
[*Note: The album is a play on words to ‘칠성사이다=Chilsung Cider’]
After the album released, Kim Junsu sent his support, getting in contact with PSY and asking after his health. It is said he was astonished at the completion of the music videos for title songs ‘Bell-Bottoms’ and ‘Daddy’.
‘Dream’ is gaining popularity that is second to ‘Bell-Bottoms’ and ‘Daddy’, notwithstanding it being a collaboration by PSY and Kim Junsu. It is occupying all sorts of music charts’ rankings and receiving the ‘hidden classic’ treatment.
