[NEWS] 151216 BTOB’s Sungjae Enchants With Haunting Cover of XIA Junsu’s “Yesterday”

BTOB‘s vocalist Yook Sungjae has released a haunting cover of XIA Junsu‘s “Yesterday.”

On December 16, Cube Entertainment uploaded the video of the singer in the studio onto BTOB’s official Naver StarCast. The video is the sixth in the “I’ll Be Your Melody Season 3″ series, with each member of BTOB covering a different song. Members Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Seo Eunkwang, Im Hyunsik, and Jung Ilhoon have already released their songs.

Yook Sungjae commented on his song selection saying that, “I chose to sing XIA Junsu’s ‘Yesterday,’ he is a person that I have admired since I was a child, and and a sunbae that I really respect.”

그대를 처음본순간 숨조차 쉴수 없었어 그 이름만 속삭여도 내 세상은 떨려.’
이번에 첫 합류로 드라큘라 재연을 함께하게된 임혜영누나에게 난 초연을했던터라 비교적 숙지가되어있어서 이 신을 처음 함께 동선을 맞추며 저위에 가삿말을 부르고 있을때 였다. 단지 보고있었던 누나가 갑자기 너무 놀랄정도로 울기시작했다.혹 같이 연기를하며 그 호흡속에서 나오는 울음이라면 같이 호흡했던 미나들 처럼 자연스럽게 생각했을텐데..뭐랄까 갑자기 그냥 데이빗스완의 설명을 듣다가 팍 하고 터진듯한…?그건 아마 처음 느낀 그신에서의 본 감정의 떨림이 더 크게와닿아서 그랬을거라 감히 짐작했다.나또한 오히려 본 공연보다도 첫 드라큘라 연습때 처음 이 노래 부를때가 가장 죽을듯이 울었었으니까..그때의 감정은 뭐랄까..예상치 못한..계산되지않았던 아니 할수없었던 감정의 요동침이였다.한동안 연습이 중단되고 마음을 진정시키며 티슈로 급하게 눈물을 닦고있는 혜영 누나를 보니..한편으론 그 눈물이 참 좋고 너무 고마웠다.이 노래자체가주는 힘과 이 극안에 흐름속에서 파생되는 멜로디 가삿말 그자체에 같이 흠뻑 빠져있다고 생각하니까..
