‘The Girl Who Sees Smells’(‘TGWSS’) was a SBS Wed-Thur drama this year with a fresh setup in which there is a girl who can see scents with her eye like the title and climbed pass a rating of 10% first. The compatibility of Shin Se-kyung –who naturally adapted CG to see scents– and JYJ Park Yuchun –who acted with insusceptibility where he doesn’t feel any pain– was special, and the acting transformation of Namgoong Min –who immersed in being a psychopath serial murderer– was also impressive. The drama elicited viewers’ empathy, thanks to it showing a fantasy setup with charisma.

Park Yoochun (JYJ), who displayed his new charms in works such as ‘Missing You’, ‘Three Days ~Love and Justice~’ ‘Sea Fog’ etc. (and) is now mesmerizing the world besides the Asian countries. His last starred drama before enlisting in the military, ‘The Girl Who Sees Smells’ is approaching its release on 2nd February next year.
This time the first public image of next year 2nd February release, splendour special included SET1 was unfolded. KTV year-end feature ‘Beautiful You’
From 3:20 PM on Christmas Day December 25; Part 1 & 2 of the 2-part year-end feature 『Beautiful You』 will air consecutively to welcome the year-end and the beginning of the year. They will show following people from all walks of life, putting the warm practice of sharing into action for underprivileged neighborhoods.
In the Part 1 piece ‘Love of the stars’, they will be doing a close coverage of scenes where showbiz and sport stars who received love from the public will be giving back the love for them : gagwoman Ahn Young-mi and Akdong Musician participate in sharing how to prepare kimchi for the winter; athletes Ahn Jung-hwan, Park Ji-sung, and Son Heung-min throw themselves into the activity ‘Shoot for Love’ with enthusiasm and sweating beads of perspiration; and including a hat from singer XIA Junsu who is very generous in his supports –for examples, repairing locals’ homes in a Cambodian remote village and establishing a school for children–.

In SBS dramas this year, Park Yuchun, L, Yook Sungjae and other idols-turned-actors(or acting-dols) have been active in displaying steady acting abilities. Although they had shown somehow lacking acting abilities in their first acting challenge, they are receiving favorable reviews from the public mass with their acting that’s growing day by day.
There are a lot of idols who are challenging acting as ever. It seems it’s another breakthrough made in the life expectancy of a short ‘idol’ profession. And though they have been embroiled in ‘foot acting (T/N: bad acting)‘ in the beginning, acting-dols have shown the pretense of developing bit by bit and are emerging as true actors.
Boy group JYJ’s Park Yuchun undertook the role of Choi Mugak, a detective who cannot feel his sense of feelings with a sudden accident in ‘The Girl Who Sees Smells'(shortened ‘TGWSS’) that finished airing past May. Park Yuchun was well-received through dramas ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal'(2010), ‘Rooftop Prince'(2012), & etc. challenging acting. In ‘TGWSS’, we got a glimpse into the possibility of him as an actor moving between action and romance.
