YC: I really like the piano. Although you can also express your feelings and thoughts through singing and dancing, I feel that the piano’s like that too. Group JYJ Kim Junsu discussed recent status on Park Yuchun and Kim Jaejoong.
Kim Junsu presented ‘Surprise V App!’ through Naver TV on the 14th.
On this day Kim Junsu disclosed to fans who asked about the recent status on his members “(Park) Yuchunnie is… next Monday…after 12 years… he had joked repeatedly saying it’s his first and last album himself but it should not be the last one he makes after only 12 years. His first solo album in 12 years is coming out”.
He said, “It is his solo album and I was the first to hear to the title track. Of course I was the first to listened to it because Yuchunnie played his music in advance to me, but I hope you will really look forward to it since it will the first time you hear him singing it,” and, “I truly mean it. This is not merely praise or a promotional ment that I am doing because it is my members singing”.
Continuing he explained, “I really listened to his song and it seems just right for Yuchunnie. I think, in reverse, I cannot communicate emotions like this,” and, “Yuchunnie did well naturally in getting a track that’s only possible for him to do. I, myself, love the song, too”.
In addition, he added “From what I heard about the music video, as well, I know that there were a constellation of various, stunning people taking part together in it,” and, “(Kim) Jaejoong-hyung is putting out a regular album, too. I also listened to Jaejoong-hyung’s album”.

[NEWS] 160115 Kim Jun-su controversy puts spotlight on ‘JYJ Act’
JYJ member Kim Jun-su’s exclusion from Thursday’s 2016 Seoul Music Awards is sparking a heated debate on the effectiveness of the so-called “JYJ Act.”
The controversy grew Thursday evening when Kim revealed on his Twitter account that he was not invited to the event despite winning the most popular artist of the year award.
This comes only a few months after the National Assembly passed a revision bill on Nov. 30, 2015, to toughen regulations on broadcaster’s unfair practices, such as banning certain musicians from making TV appearances or performing at annual awards events. It has since been called the JYJ Act.

Under the act, media organizations that violate the rules will face fines up to 2 percent of the entity’s net profit, or will be ordered corrections by the Korea Communications Commission.
The history behind the act can be traced to 2009 when three members of JYJ, including Kim, nullified their contract with SM Entertainment, citing unfair contract regarding profit share and the excessively long 13-year deal. The idols made their singing debut under SM Entertainment as members of quintet TVXQ.
The issue appeared to have been resolved in 2012 when the two parties agreed not to interfere in each other’s activities.
But such wrongful practices went on against JYJ, even after the Fair Trade Committee ordered the Union of Korean Pop Culture and Arts Industry to stop blocking the group’s activities in Korea, which was revealed to have been done in collusion with SM Entertainment.
Rep. Choi Min-hee of the main opposition Minjoo Party of Korea openly blasted the industry for the collective move and sponsored the bill in April 2015.
So when the controversy grew online this week, the 55-year-old lawmaker expressed disappointment on her official Twitter account Thursday, saying, “Kim’s fans have all the rights to accuse the organizers for their unfair practices. We’re making efforts to get the facts straight on why he was not invited.”

“If there was any injustice, I will try my best to fix the problems like I did by tabling the JYJ Act,” she added.
At the Awards ceremony, Korean boy band EXO from SM Entertainment clinched the top prize for the third consecutive year.

Despite being voted the most popular singer, Junsu, musician of Korean male trio JYJ, was not extended an invitation for the 2016 Seoul Music Awards Thursday, sparking debate whether his estranged former agency SM Entertainment is still wielding its power in the local music industry.
Below is the timeline of the trio’s years-long legal battle for independence from the record label giant.
— July 2009: Three members of the quintet K-pop boy band TVXQ — Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yuchun, and Xiah Junsu — nullify their contracts with SM Entertainment, citing unfair distribution of profit and the excessively long 13-year contract. SM responds saying their claim was deviant and reckless.

[NEWS] 160115 JYJ’s Park Yoochun Teases Solo Album With Emotional Video Preview
JYJ‘s Park Yoochun has released the first video teaser for his upcoming solo album, “How Much Love Do You Have In Your Wallet?” This is Park Yoochun’s first solo album and it was recorded before the singer entered the military last summer.
The video teaser shows a lone man, his face not shown and walking down a dimly lit residential street. He carries a yellow plastic bag in his hand, and his gait expresses weariness and loneliness. Park Yoochun’s voice accompanies this sad walk and he sings the words, “When one person falls in love, another must be parting.” His voice is without musical accompaniment, inciting a strong emotional response.
Park Yoochun’s mini album drops January 18.

Christmas season was over a month ago, but boy band JYJ’s member, Junsu had something special prepared for his fans. It was his first live broadcasting on V app, and fans were delighted with the singer’s spontaneous, but thoughtful gift.
He went over the controversy about his absence at the 25th Seoul Music Awards held on Thursday. He said that he could not attend the ceremony although he was voted the “most popular singer.” However, he relieved his fans by showing the trophy that he’d received from the event.
The 29-year-old also sang a brief tune from the musical he’s currently starring in as male lead, “Dracula.” Next, he showed some personal pictures and explained what he’d done recently. The singer said that he’d enjoyed some Korean street food, flaunted photos of his hair dyed in red, and told what his favorite drama of the moment was.
Junsu also said that he wanted to have a “talk-concert” to communicate with his fans. Updates on JYJ’s other members came up too. He complimented the demo version of Yoo-chun’s solo album, saying that it truly showed his colors. On the demo of Jaejoong’s album, he hinted that the album was full of music with different genres. Both members are currently serving in the army.
He wrapped-up the special show by wearing several cute items and looking embarrassed about it at the same time. Most importantly, he promised he’d stay strong for his fans, especially “in times like these.”

Kim Junsu of JYJ recently addressed his absence from the ’25th Seoul Music Awards’ through NAVER V APP despite winning the Popularity Award beforehand.
Despite winning the Popularity Award, Kim Junsu was unable to attend the ’25th Seoul Music Awards’ to receive his award in person, and this left fans in rather dejected spirits.
Junsu said through V APP while holding aloft the trophy for his Popularity Award, “It’s regretful, but don’t feel dejected as things can only get better.”
He continued, “I won an award today, and it was given to me by everyone. The most important thing is that it was 100 percent voted by you. It’s been a long while… 6 to 7 years since I was a nominee at an awards ceremony like this. There are so many talented singers, so I didn’t expect much. But it’s all thanks to everyone that I was able to win.”
Junsu also expressed his regrets, “It would be more joyous if I was able to attend the awards ceremony in person, and say my acceptance speech. Regarding my non-attendance, I will discuss it with the company, and I hope that everyone will believe in everything that we have done up till this point. I understand that the Popularity Award was done through paid voting. I’m really sorry and it’s regretful. Please don’t be dejected as things will get better. I will treasure this big award that you have given me, and accept it with much gratitude.”
Meanwhile, Seoul mayor Park Won Sun has expressed in the aftermath that he will be looking into the matter on why Kim Junsu wasn’t invited to the ’25th Seoul Music Awards.’

[NEWS] 160115 Seoul mayor looks into why Kim Jun-su got snubbed at music awards
Seoul Mayor Park Won-sun has told JYJ Kim Jun-su’s fans that he is looking into the controversy involving the artist not being invited to the Seoul Music Awards.
Park, who has some acquaintance with the singer, on Thursday wrote on his Twitter account that he is “currently looking into the problem” and that he “vividly remembers Kim from the musical ‘December.’”
His remark was in response to a Twitter user who mentioned the mayor in a post that read “There should be some explanation on why Kim was not invited for unfair reasons, even when he was voted the most popular artist of the year in a 47-day ‘paid voting.’”
Other fans also sent the mayor and the city’s official Twitter account similar messages as the event was sponsored by the Seoul city government.
As the controversy grew online, the mayor responded to the Twitter users, vowing to make Seoul a “fair society.”
It is being speculated that the JYJ member was not invited due to pressure from the SM Entertainment which had a legal dispute with JYJ, whose members were formerly SM’s TVXQ.
JYJ had been blocked from performing on Korean TV music shows since 2009, in part due to a contract dispute. It was rumored that the agency had “threatened” broadcasters to blacklist the members on TV in return for allowing SM artists to appear on their shows.
