The Eighth Army Band began its proud history of service to the nation on 1 July 1916, when it was constituted as the Band Section, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 35th Infantry Regiment. The Band was organized on 8 July 1916 at Douglas, Arizona.
The present edition of the 8th Army Band consists of 58 highly trained Soldier-Musicians. The Band is capable of performing everything from traditional military marches, to chamber music, as well as the latest country, pop, rock, and jazz tunes.
The 8th Army Band continues in the proud tradition started over 90 years ago. While serving their country in the Republic of Korea, the Band truly is “Freedom’s Ambassador’s”, providing motivational musical entertainment to American Soldiers and their Families and to all of United States Forces Korea.
