Yeah, the tat Does Not look at all right! Perhaps it is not complete yet? Hoping Flowsik/Jae used a magic marker to see how it would look and goofed it up. Mystery…will we ever know the true reason behind the goofy peace symbol? It has to be hand drawn. Would you pay for a tat that looked like that? Much less show it off in a photo? Jae has too much pride of appearance to have a tat that looks like that….surely!!!
There is a very good chance it’s fake, as you cannot get a tattoo in Korea, it’s illegal (although there are shops that still do it anyway). That’s why all the idols usually get them when they’re in Japan. It was probably a test run.

@Georgia Peach. That’s not at all what I meant. In any case, he can’t go to Japan before January. Read more closely above message and read between the lines. If he goes to Japan after he is discharged, we may stop talking of milky white velvet smooth skin and start talking of inky blue black bumpy skin since he seems to have got the tattoo itch once again. But at this particular moment I can only hope it’s a fake. Wish he had not revealed it.

I saw recently the story of a girl who had so many tattoos which she had done when in depression and to draw attention to her pain when her b/f left her. Now she is trying to remove them and she says it is so very painful, she cries every time before she goes for the next session, then her skin gets big blisters and some of the ink is removed but some stays and she gets scars after the blisters peal off.
and btw that sign has a very long story behind it. I am not sure if Jae knows about it but he should check it out before he makes it a permanent companion.

Yes, I am also very excited. This man has no rest, no break even for a day, full of energy and ideas, but he got me so worried with this exposure in the middle of the other story which is not quite over that I forgot to spazz about how good he (otherwise) looks and whatever he is preparing for us. I am sure it will be a blast and I guess there will be some quite lively pieces judging by his collaborators. He is so impatient to go start work he even goes to wake them up. I met a Korean family at the aquarium recently. The guys skin was the first thing I noticed. Like a dolphin he was!!! He was not pale like Jae or Junsu, but his skin was without any blemish.

Apparently I was incorrect about the legalities of tattoos in S. Korea. I had read that they were illegal due to the Koreans extreme measures against spreading diseases. I asked some other kpop idols fans (idols with Tattoos) and they confirmed to me that it’s not illegal in Korea and that some of their idols got tattoos from Korea, the information that tattoos are illegal in Korea might not be true (or is no longertrue 🙂 ), Now that I remember when Jaejoong got his last tattoo in 2014 he took a picture with the tattooist and she shared it, she was korean ( KIM Shy Young ) and I think her location was also in korea. if what she does was illegal I don’t think she would share the pictures in her official SNS accounts and thank Jaejoong for his visit.

I don’t think its a permanent tattoo, if you look closer it is fairly sloppy and we know our Joonie is a perfectionist and wouldn’t get one like that. It isn’t even anywhere that would be a usual place for one. (hopefully) but then I could be wrong…just my evaluation of where it is and how it looks.

Oh Lord, as much as I like to see that he is again in the company of his friends and collaborators, hopefully preparing a new album and a J party before a comeback concert, I get that uneasy feeling. Wasn’t he supposed not to show his face (leave alone a new tatt) unless at a public function? I have always thought of JJ being exceptionally wise and prudent but if that tattoo is not a fake I may need to revise my opinion. I truly hope I do not have to change and this slides by.

Anna Liza, you are killing me here….I need more hints. I keep looking at the photo…Jae has on an stylized American shirt flag…does the peace symbol have something to do with that? Flowsik at first glance…does his hand peace sign look ok or not? This will drive me crazy, girl!
Okay, about their finger V signs. You see the picture with the two guys in sunglasses at the controls. The one sitting is showing the true peace sign (the two fingers pointing up and the three fingers and the palm of the hand pointing outwards). However, the same sign turned so that you see the back of the hand (rather than the palm) is equivalent to pointing the middle finger. Now, where they are four, the two guys are showing the back of the hand but the fingers are horizontal – that is not offensive. It’s the teen’s symbol of peace.
What I was hinting at is that this symbol also has the meaning of death and being in despair. It comes from the Catholic church where St Peter was hung upside down on the cross. Regarding why I said “let’s not go there” Oh, God, I typed it and erased it . Don’t want to give ideas to a wrong person . It’s better if nobody sees the imprudence. Mind you, while I do not think it adds anything more to his personality or handsomeness than he already has and rather reduces his natural beauty, it’s not my business to tell him what to do. I am disappointed but that’s not the reason for my worry. I would rather he had waited till he is discharged.
Oh, I was looking at the original post of Jae and Flowsik. Didn’t really pay any attention to the other photos….only to look at Jae. Yes, I did know about showing the front of the hand in a V was an very insulting gesture in Great Britian (worked with a guy from Scotland for awhile), but you really see it done that way a lot in photos from Korea. Do you think they know about the Brit insult?
Yeah, the inverted broken cross inside a circle, as we know, has had many meanings over the centuries. A panzer unit in WWll used it as their battle symbol. Even the person(a Brit, as you know) who brought to light again in the 50’s admits he drew his feeling of dispair over nuclear proliferation….he lay on his face on the ground with out stretched arms.
The new tatt may be for real….but it just looks all not so right to me. Maybe the photo distorted it. At least it is small. Jae can only please himself 100%. Soooooo……here’s hoping he’ll not get in much trouble for the photo and the tatt 😬
Ah. As someone of British descent myself, I’m all too familiar with that backwards symbol and that it is the female way of flipping someone of in England & Wales. It sometimes is seen from both points of view, but mainly the females. Also, that pic of Jae sitting in the chair with his sunglasses on has always been one of my faves, as he seems so relaxed and at ease.
New tattoo? I kinda like this one despite the extended lines. It feels more Jae-like. If it were perfect I don’t think I would have liked it as much 😶😶

Jaejoong looks happy and extremely fit. I’m so glad to get an update on him and I’m glad he’s maintaining his friendships while in the army. His voice is in great condition and I’m happily anticipating his next musical or acting venture. I also hope that he finds a life partner who truly loves him for himself, not as a commodity, or something to admire. Jaejoong is a real person and I hope he finds that support and intimate love from a person who knows him as an individual (if he hasn’t already). Thanks so much for the update JYJ3 and flowsik.
Amen to that. He has always been good at maintaining friendships and continues to do so even now in the army. I hope the way he has been able to identify true and faithful friends he will be able to find a life partner who loves him sincerely . Jaejoong . as you said, is a real warm person who has so much love to give I wish that he gets back just as much love from a true partner who stimulates him and inspires him which is so very hard with all gold diggers hunting around.

Well, I guess I might be one of the very few who actually got excited about the new tatt since it’s also my favorite form of documenting my life story; after all, it’s the ONLY THING that actually belongs to me and that I will actually take to the grave… I love how there’s a story behind each of his tattoos; he’s not one to follow trends but a trendsetter and let’s be real here; that man is so breathtakingly gorgeous and his skin is so light that tatts look stunning on him! I was looking forward for a new mark of his military milestone, guess this might be it? For all who might be upset or praying it’s fake, here’s a blow but also a consolation for you all; by the raise of skin, the tatt’s pretty much real to me but hey! at least he chose something pretty small! I like your way of thinking daydrmr…tattoo has been an old known art and history,.in some other cultures tattoo symbolizes their tribe.royalty position,their identity as well as their life story,so its an old known thing but few people knows that…centuries and generation to generation it has evolve into many meaning thru passage of time…until it has negative connotation,it is because to some people those that have their tattoos are into wild act and drugs, (sorry not all but majority has that kind of thinking) it is a form of art that i learn to appreciate lookin’ at..i think generally the meaning of having them is freedom,it is also the original meaning of those culture that have them. I agree with you. I didn’t give much thought about that possibly new tattoo since I already considered tattoos as part of JJ’s package and I have great trust on his wisdom. That peace sign is beautiful (if by chance that’s a real tattoo), PEACE is what humanity and the whole world need badly, and as a person, peace of mind is more important than fame and wealth.
#throwback: Jaejoong was holding peace sign from way back Nov. 2011 when JYJ, YW and JH participated in a charity pictorial with the fashion magazine Elle to help Africa and the underprivileged in Korea, that promoted love and sharing for the “Share Happiness” campaign, which had a concept of “Hippie freedom and peace, a peaceful day.”
If it is ILLEGAL in SK and if he is not allowed to have an unofficial photo outside army, then kindly those so called friends be MINDFUL of that situation and JJ, YOU are the one who stated that we make our own DESTINY, hope you are going to be mindful of your actions.
