The sad day when JYJ’s Kim Junsu will have to enlist is quickly approaching.
On October 27, various news outlets reported that the singer will be reprising his role as “L” in the revival production of the musical “Death Note,” which is set to open next January. Following the end of its run, Kim Junsu will reportedly be enlisting sometime in the first half of 2017 in order to fulfill his mandatory military service.
A source from his agency C-JeS Entertainment confirms that “Death Note” will be the singer’s last production before his enlistment, but clarifies that the exact date of when he will go has not yet been finalized.
Kim Junsu is currently finishing out his run as Dorian Gray in the musical of the same name, and will soon begin full-blown preparations for both his end-of-the-year concert as well as the upcoming “Death Note” musical once “Dorian Gray” closes with its last performance on October 29.
Meanwhile, fellow JYJ member Kim Jaejoong is set to be discharged after finishing up his service in December of this year.

When will we be able to see JYJ on the same stage again??
Ditto. I think I must pencil Tokyo Dome 2019 on the calendar. I am in.
I know Junsu can do whatever he wants, but i’m a bit disappointed because he chose to enlist as a conscripted policeman and not as an active duty soldier… The military service it’s a sensitive topic by koreans and they don’t like the police unit and this will only bring hate for Junsu. And, of course, the haters will not miss this opportunity to attack all JYJ members.
I don’t think they get to choose how to enlist. They go through several tests and based on these tests they are then assigned a specific role.
And as for the haters, let them hate. If life is lived with the sole purpose of avoiding criticism then might as well stay at home and do nothing.
And if people have a problem with the police unit then they should say that to the government, not the people who are forced to enlist in it.
Actually you can choose if you want to enlist as an active duty soldier ar as an conscripted policeman. Just look at actor Joo Won, he was accepted to Seoul police unit but he received hate from knetz and because of that he decided to cancel police unit and to enlist as an active duty soldier. The public is seeing this unit as another “celebrity unit”. It would have been better for Junsu to enlist as an active duty soldier.
Then we don’t know why the decision came about to be this way. I don’t think it was to avoid service. I mean for the love of God Junsu’s life has been nothing but mental and physical torture for the past 7 years going on to 8 and he fought through it courageously.
And the PR unit is still hard work. It is not a walk in the park.
I’m really curious why Junsu decided to enlist as a conscripted policeman. I thought that he would avoid going there because, as i’ve said, this unit is seen as another “celebrity unit”, and it’s used by knetz to criticize idols/actors who go there. I hope that we will find out why he took this decision, to enlist as conscripted policeman.
I’ll quote comment I’ve seen:
“I don’t see why people pray so much those who goes to military duty (to the point that had to put down others dutys). Not everyone had hard works, most will cook, clean, etc (not much different from police in the end I bet).
“…there’s not that many jobs in the military that you can consider to be very physically and mentally challenging. The toughest ones would be things like;
. Infantry
. Reconnaissance
. Special forces
. Armor and cavalry (tank and IFV crews)
. Aviation/pilots
. Artillery
. Combat engineers
. Combat divers
. Search & rescue
. Medics
. Explosive ordnance disposal/EOD
And some of these are extremely difficult to get in, or even stay. It’s pretty clear that most people think the military is all about those positions when they have a LOT of other jobs that do not involve putting yourself in the frontline in full gear with the expectation to shoot, maneuver and kicking down doors.”
“Not every job in the military involves combat, or patrolling in full kit all day at the DMZ, or even being trained to the point you’re puking and crying for mommy.
The military has their own technicians, doctors, quartermasters, truck drivers, electricians, engineers, pilots, military police/security, cooks, clerks, truck drivers, signals, maintenance, ordnance and a whole lot of other jobs that have nothing to do with fighting. Infantry makes up only a portion of the Army, and they have it the worst as far as training and daily life goes (barring special forces and rangers).
Military service is only tormenting if you have a shithead that’s in charge of your unit OR you’re consistently failing to do even the most basic tasks.” End quote.
I think it sheds some light on police work and the military. I hope it helps who ever reads it.
I don’t know Evelyn. We’ll have to wait and see.
@Zamo “Infantry makes up only a portion of the Army, and they have it the worst as far as training and daily life goes (barring special forces and rangers).”
So our Jaejoong who is in the infantry is in the toughest wing of the army. And with his ruptured cartilage of the knee I had thought they would have let him be in a less demanding unit just as Lee Min Ho has even been excused because of his accident injuries.
When did that come up? When they last talked about it with the three of them, both JJ and Junsu stated they were going to enlist as active duty soldiers. Where did you see or hear that from?
I don’t know honestly. With Junsu’s enlistment, I think there was a lot of things that has happened that we don’t know about. For instance, in his Hong Kong concert, he said that this concert was his last, meaning there won’t be an end of the year concert or anything else but now not only a ballad & a musical concert is scheduled but also another musical. So I don’t know what is going behind the scenes but we are not getting the full story.
Maybe Junsu is going through something personal we don’t know about hence our lack of understanding the full picture and seeing things change abruptly and without connection to what he has stated before.
So, we just trust him and support him and help shield him from hate, that will add nothing but misery to this already tough year for Jusnu & JYJ.
And we have to realize that C-Jes can’t give us full details nor they should about the conditions of his enlistment. It is still Junsu’s private life and we should respect that.
And if Junsu is to join as an active duty soldier, we will not see him at all unlike Jaejoong because if you have not noticed the military in the past few months became an unfriendly environment for JYJ members. Certain individuals with the help of a certain entity are now at all the festivals held by the military. So, Junsu will disappear for 21 months and we’ll see him only if we are lucky.
All of these posts Stephei W. are not directed to you. It was just a line of thought that I had to finish 😀
Yep, Zamo, you are right. I realized of that too. When “some individual” with his undfriendly and rude manager appear in the scenario (saw them in some videos from the 2015 ROK Ground Forces Festival when Jaejoong participated and shone) I knew everything was going to change for our Jaejoong in the following months and I was right. “With the help of a certain entity”, (some individual’s powerful company), he didn’t participate in any important event from the army in these last months. Happily he is going to be discharged in december and the nightmare will finish.
So, for us and for Junsu, it is better if he is accepted to serve as a policeman.
How THREATENED must SM still be by any performance of Jaejoong’s? They know good and well Yunho couldn’t stand up there like that and sing like that on his best day. It’s so hard for me to comprehend how they could have influenced the military authorities, but I too have noticed the absence of Jaejoong of late.
December is not far away, the days seem to be flying by so let’s just not worry about anything and we’ll have Jaejoong back before too much longer now. As for Junsu, he has performed tirelessly for the entire time Jaejoong has been gone, he has left us with so much to listen to and watch in terms of albums and performance videos and I have a feeling there will be more coming even after he has enlisted. It still hurts to think that the guys are going into their service unsure of whether their fans will be there when they return, whether we’ll “forget” about them in the 18 months they’re gone. I hope we can do our part to show them we will be there for them, however long it takes.
@Zamo..i have the same thought, those certain individual are flocking to be in the festival..when it comes to protecting our JYJ ..you get sensitize that you can see shit things even if it was done in a subtle way.
Here: http://m.entertain.naver.com/read?oid=001&aid=0008783696 Some fans translated the article and from what i saw it says that Junsu will enlist into South Gyeonggi Police Promotional Team in early-2017.
What does police promotion team mean or do???
Never mind. I googled and found this meaning of police promotion team:
A representative from the police unit initially confirmed that Junsu passed the examination for the special promotions unit. The unit is known for only accepting three out fifteen applicants and competition is regarded as 1:5. The soldier under this unit will focus on awareness and promotion of school violence prevention, elderly and child welfare amongst other activities.
This means Junsu went through an examination and was one of only three successful candidates. Congratulations, Junsu!
no way..sigh..i was rooting for him to enlist in active duty army..if he gets hate now im sorry but i cant shield you junsu..i thought he is gonna follow jaejoongs route..im quite dissapointed really
Do you actually believe the guy who fought relentlessly and courageously for 7 years will avoid military duty because he is afraid and wants the easy route?
He said himself that he was going into the military, so something must have happened during this period that changed the course of action.
And being a conscripted policeman is still active duty and still hard work and every job matters.
And if the essence of a soldier is to serve his country and bring prosperity to his fellow citizens and help them live, then by God he has been a soldier all his life with all his hard work that brought joy to millions from his country and from outside his country.
If I live to be a hundred I will never understand “the haters” of an artist of the undeniably brilliant stature of Junsu over a thing like this. His great natural talent, how long and hard he worked from such a young age to perfect and develop it, how he has worked so tirelessly for over a decade and especially in the last 2 years, writing songs, recording albums, doing tours, performing starring roles in musicals, all for his fans, for their enjoyment, to entertain and uplift them…. And he can’t make ONE decision for himself of this completely personal and private nature… What kind of wholly imaginary “tight leash” do these haters think they have him on?? This sort of insanity just makes my blood boil.
Here, here‼️ Well said, my fellow JYJ sister!
@shayra @lilibaiyu
At a point in time, a realization should happen that Junsu has a private life that we know nothing about and should not know about.
He is entitled to his life and to his reasons and we have to respect that.
And if something happens in Junsu’s life that is not fully understood then he deserves from us at least the benefit of the doubt because I believe by God he has earned it. He’ve done nothing but enrich us with his music and his acting when he didn’t have to do that, especially this year. The year of exposing his privacy and the privacy of his fellow member and that is not easy to live through. He still put on a happy face(the V app broadcast on Jan.14 where he apologized to us for not being able to perform at Seoul Music Awards and tried everything to make us laugh) and made music and performed tours(especially the Xignature tour where he found incredible amounts of strength to perform and sing and dance with everything going on) and acted in musicals to make us happy.
He needs us right now and we should be there for him like he did for us.
To the question of why didn’t he join the military, I believe the spectrum of answers to that question is not exclusive to fear. A lot of answers could be true but jumping immediately to fear(and hence disappointment which I’ve seen from a number of people) is disheartening to witness for a human who has shown nothing but courage and strength.
Zamo, thank you for your kind and very heart felt words in defense of Junsu. Although I wonder why words of defense are needed at all from anyone. He is an adult man of Korea with a sterling career who can make decisions of his own for what is best for him and his family and for his career. People just shutup already….let Junsu be! Junsu has stood in the breach for JYJ this year….and showed us an admirable face…..okay I could keep on ranting……but I will stop!
Again, thank you for stating Junsu’s case so very well. I can tell you are a caring fan of Junsu and JYJ.
@ Georgia Peach
I just stated what is true.
It just bothers me to see such words being said without much consideration of what might have happened.
And I hope you get to see JYJ in concert and be happy 🙂
Zamo….do you want to go with us….we’ll get a ticket for you! Yes, I do think it would be a great adventure to go to Korea to see a JYJ, Junsu, Yuchun, or Jae Joong concert and meet all JYJ3 sisters there! I already have a sign on my back ‘Crazy Woman for JYJ’ ….. might as well confirm it with a trip to see a concert! I talk about going with my ‘don’t get it’ friends ….. they just give me that ‘would you really’ kind of look and then roll their eyes! 🛫🇺🇸🛬🇰🇷
Georgia Peach…That would be lovely!
If only we knew somebody who could get us tickets and then we could all go and meet each other 😀
That would be so much fun!
im top lazy to respond to ypu guys but yeah even though there is nothing to hate on Junsu..im sure haters/knetz who is unsatisfied on why he got easier duty would be so understanding..i would also be angry if such unfairness occurs selected or not selected.. i expected junsu to make me proud and get better army performance than jaejoong because his health result was better..so to say im not dissapointed is understatement..but that doesnt take away the fact that junsu is a hella talented guy..
Dear Evelyn: first of all, there aren’t official details about exact date or where Junsu is going to fulfill his military service. If he choose to serve as a policeman I’ll be happy for him. If some haters say bad things about that, don’t pay too much attention, maybe they are SM fans, so just tell them that three of their singers are doing the same: Changmin, Donhae and Choi Siwon. Nobody has made a fuss about that.
Junsu’s end of the year concert and a Death Note revival! Some things to look forward to, as well his BTS and Snow app antics; before his MS 🙂
With Chunnie having weekends off is there any hope he, Jaejoong & Junsu can get together & record a song or MV before Junsu enlists? It would be great to have something from JYJ again. Either way I hope they can spend some private time together. I miss all three of them but probably nowhere near as much as they miss each other.
Most likely not as Yoochun is still in active military duty. They could end up meeting for a meal or something, but would be breaking military duty rules if they did anything JYJ related.
When Jaejoong said he recorded songs for NO.X he also said that he recorded songs for JYJ that were supposed to be revealed during membership week i always wonder what happened to those songs.
I think Yoochun don’t have the right to record songs during his service, but it will be great if Jaejoong and Junsu record their parts with harmoizations and leave Yoochun’s parts to be recorded later when he comes back, he and Jaejoong can work then again on other harmonization if needed, they can make it perfectly sound like they worked on it all the 3 together. I really hope some music from JYJ to come out, it will be a huge joy for all of us.
This would be great 🙂
Thanks for the answers everyone 🙂 It would be great if we could get something JYJ but I guess we’ll just have to wait & see. At least with Jaejoong we’ve been so lucky & blessed to get relatively regular updates & fancams of his army performances. I hope we’re wrong about sm interfering & that we get to see Junsu performing in the GFF & other events – his voice & talent is too golden for the army to ignore. It’s probably best we’re not hearing much from Chunnie lately in terms of the SK public/netizens but I wish we’d get an update just letting us know how he’s coping & if he’s doing OK…
@ Sapphire I think we may still be able to see a lot of Junsu. He is going to be in a police promotion team: (See my comment above):
The soldier under this unit will focus on awareness and promotion of school violence prevention, elderly and child welfare amongst other activities.
In my understanding, (and I hope I am not wrong) this means he will be doing much of what he now does except he won’t be paid for it and will most probably be operating from home.
@Anna Liza
I hope that is the case. I know Junsu will excel in his ms whatever unit he joins, but it will make it easier for us fans if we get to see & hear him sing occasionally. 🙂
I don’t know why my comment isn’t showing…was there a problem with what i’ve said?
the sooner he goes the sooner they will be together again. it seems like such a long time yet they have been solo for a while now and we are loving anything they do. JJ made the time go very fast while he was in and hopefully it will fly for us when junsu goes in too and then chun will come back in the middle. the only thing i don’t like is that i am getting older waiting for their return! it gives us something to look forward to for sure and keeps me going anticipating!
i am happy to know when it will be now. its called planning your longing for him to return~~~
Well koreamom, I anticipated the end of year Ballad and Musical….but the revival of Death Note? Does Junsu know the meaning of ‘voice rest’? Like someone said perhaps he will choose to not participate in any music during his police duties….but how can a singing, dancing machine like Junsu not participate in something musical? Interesting, also, how some think serving in a police unit or doing a public service job like Yuchun is not serving. They are away from their choosen profession and have no choice about it. To me that is as much serving as the person who is patrolling the DMZ.
Along with you, I’m getting older by the day! I will soon be the oldest fangirl in the concert crowd🙁 Just think of it this way….that longing to see Jae will just be extended to a longing for Junsu. It would be nice if he has music planned for us while he is gone…like Jae. My question is when does he have the spare moment to do new music for us and still sleep/eat/rest from his day? Junsu we love your energy for us❤️❤️❤️
Georgia Peach, LOL. I will be ready to retire by the time they return to the stage!
I’m just hoping I’m still alive by then. lol
well aren’t we a fine bunch of well seasoned fans?! i am afraid when he gets back my heart will not be a ble to take it but, who says we will last thru JJ’s comeback either lol!
You may be well seasoned but I’m probably more like well done and a little burnt on the edges. LOL
i do believe i am older than you by a bit lot !
o/` o/` o/` I don’t think so….. o/` o/` o/` 😀
Yes, we are well seasoned! Well seasoned enough to recognize superior talents like the three men of JYJ! With Jae, my personal bias, all the alarms went off the first time I laid eyes on that man! Eyes that are experienced enough to know that what I was seeing was BEYOND EXTRAORDINARY ❤️ I may have to be rolled into a dome somewhere, but I have no shame…..wheelchair access seats are often in the best locations….said it before….where is my rollin’ chair?
@koreamom, lilibaiyu,Georgia Peach, Carole, I think I’ve got you all beat when it comes to being the oldest fangirl at the concert 😀 Let me tell you, all that goes by the wayside when you see JYJ ‘live’, my first and only time, 2011 San Jose, during their World Tour. I was so overwhelmed by just being there, seeing them onstage…I will never forget it!!!
Xiapearl, there I thought koreamom was the only one who had seen them live! How I envy you and her…my eyes are just green with envy! And you may be the oldest fangirl by length of time you have been a fan…but I’m not so sure about you being the ‘oldest’ in years on earth. I for one choose to not look at the age on earth anymore….just age of my fangirling years for JYJ!
Wow, San Jose! What a flood of memories that brought back. The very last rock singer I fangirled over there I ended up marrying! Hmmm…. I wonder if lightning can strike twice there… 😀
Carole, won’t it be great? So much more time to devote to watching Jae Joong, Yuchun and Junsu on YouTube!!!
True confession. I have watched 2010 a-nation at least 100 times and streamed the audio in my car endlessly. That and “In Heaven” from Tokyo Dome are simply extraordinary. The audio from the Japanese DVDs is superlative because the fans don’t ruin in by screaming like a stadium full of 12 year olds when an exceptional performance is underway. These musical moments are nirvana. Admittedly, they are all beautiful, but, I heard them before I saw them. The passion of these performances is something that you can’t put into words effectively. You either get it or you don’t. Incredible.
Hi Carole,
I also heard the voices of Jaejoong, Junsu and Yuchun well before I ever saw them. I think international fans have such a unique and fascinating perspective on JYJ for so many reasons, partly because of our own cultural differences but also because as Western nations, we are far more likely to judge and choose to listen to singers by….. their actual *singing* ability as opposed to their looks, their entertainment company-created images, etc. I was so drawn to the voices I heard, captivated really, I simply had to know who these young men were. Their looks, as gorgeous and magnetic as they are, was icing on the cake for me.
carole, its obvious that you DO get it! i love your comment.
A very true sentiment…..you either get it or you don’t! I feel so frustrated most of the time cause my friends ‘just don’t get it’. The only people I can find who like Korean music and or dramas are teenage girls who are simply in love with the appearance of the individual boy band members …I think us ‘seasoned fans’ are beyond that and recognize the talents of all three of our JYJ members…together they are magic and individuality they are miraculous! Never too old 👵🏻 to recognize either magic or the miraculous ❗️
i have that problem too with younger fans and no one to talk to about them or my love for k everything.
To my ear, the members of JYJ have extremely unique, immediately identifiable voices. With a few notable exceptions, most idol singers have very generic voices – it’s hard to tell them apart most of the time. I think a truly great singer must have this kind of unique vocal presence. I get frustrated with the fans who seem to be “listening with their eyes” too. But I don’t think it’s too important to have my musical preferences validated by others.
@Carole
JYJ A-nation 2010 is one of my all time favourites! I’d happily give 10 years of my life to go back in time & be at that performance live! Junsu’s I sing for you is still one of my favourite lines from all their songs. I have as many live versions of JYJ songs on my ipod as studio versions cause they are just so good live. & it’s rare you can say that these days about even the biggest/most popular singers.
This made me laugh so hard because i’m worrying the same thing, would i be able to jump, walk and scream as the other fans do in a concert..geez, i’m still trying to figure out how to stay young 😀 😀 😀
Ladies do you remember when Jaejoong spotted a 84 years old fan in their JYJ concert 2014, let this strong lady be our role model. I have to go to JYJ concert before I die, by hook or by crook I have to go there 😂😂
Jaechnsu, I remember that well. It seemed to please them to think a person of that age would come to their concert. Didn’t Jae thank her for coming? That may very well be one of us! Hook or crook…..you are so right❗️
YES! that means he just might thank us for being there too!
Koreamom, how could they not see a group of ‘seasoned fans’ screaming their lungs out? Do you think Jae or Yuchun or Junsu would recognize a Southern accent when they hear it? Haaaaay ya’ll….it’s me Georgia Peach from America ❗️LOL,LOL,LOL!
i think they might IF they can hear you over me!
Tears of a real true fangirl ‼️‼️😘 I WANT TO GO SEE THEM IN PERSON SO VERY BAD😢😢😢
I feel like I’ve missed so much of y’all this week….I’m at the beach. Fun, fun…. but these are some of those folk who ‘just don’t get it’! 😌
I am glad I now know when he will be enlisting. I tell myself knowing will help me to be ready for him to depart. But I do not think I will ever be ready for Junsu to go!!!
Somehow I can’t imagine cute Junsu as a policeman. I need some time to digest it.
Sister, did you not see those last photos of Junsu for Harper’s? I know you did! That was no Cute Junsu!!! That fringed coat pose…Holy Smokes❗️
We knew it was coming but my heart still went *clunk* to the floor when I read it. Luckily, we have the world’s best antidote to missing Junsu – JAEJOONG! 🙂
Lilibaiyu, that Jae Joong will shine, shine, shine! Excitement of our senses is just a short amount of time away! Can you imagine being in an audience seeing him for the first time post MS? I can just see the smile on his face now and hear the screams of the crowd!
lol The words “erotic pandemonium” spring to mind, Georgia Peach. 🙂
what insights you have! i bet you are right! hehe
Lilibaiyu, that man just oozes erotic pandemonium ‼️And Jae has held it back as long as he possibly can. What ‘regular ‘ guy would wear polka dot underwear with white pants? He is about to pop with it‼️ All I can say…like koreamom….heart don’t fail me now‼️😍😘😍‼️
I thought I was seeing things, Georgia Peach, not that I was looking there, too hard anyway LOL!!!!
Sis, you were NOT seeing things! My only question is….did Jae not think those black undershorts could not be seen with his white uniform pants? What a hoot! I personally loved it! How cheeky of him to do that! Did you catch the photo of Jae with that cocked hip? Lordy mercy! The master of fan service😍😍😍or is he NOT conscious of being such a hottie….is it all natural?
@ Georgia Peach and @ xiaspearl12
Hey, you two elders, what’s this talk I hear about cocked things? Underage girls like me might miss read, you know 😉
As to the undies, don’t you remember that in the past 13 years Jae never bought himself a pair, all his supplies are from fans like you 🙂 Poor guy, probably the nearest he had to white undies were those white polka dots . Fans, keep white in mind when making your next present.
On the “Come On Over” video featuring Jae I seem to recall a drying rack in his kitchen that was full of white undies, so I’m pretty sure he has some. Wait a minute, you don’t think he was trying to be *provocative* for the benefit of his fans, do you?? lol
Oh, Anna Liza…..listen to your elders! Pay close attention to that cocked hip…the cocked hip in Jae’s last performance….I know for sure you know which photo I’m talking about! After the videos you posted recently….I don’t think you’ll miss read anything, girl!
I’m here at the beach with girl friends…. I giggle out loud at what y’all all have said to me…..trust me I would not even try to explain what we’ve got goin’ on😀😀😀. That pretty, sexy, handsome man. 💗💗💗
i love your comments georgia peach! i can’t believe i missed the polka dots! anyone have a link for me to see what i missed? i am trying to look at him with wholesome eyes now girls but i believe it is not possible!
Koreamom…have I given you a chuckle and a reason to stare this afternoon? And what a subject to stare at❗️ And between Kris and Anna Liza they can always pull out from the archives any photo you may want of Jae Joong. 😘😍😘😍
Thank you for making my afternoon such a pleasure…..Kim Jae Joong ‼️
@koreamom Mind you koreamom. I had no finger in this it was the other elder @kris who posted it on 15th Augusr 2016 on this here blog. It was from the 71st Korea liberation concert, I hope this is only the link.

how can i thank you anna liza p m! my eyes have been enlightened and will not miss any more! must carefully stare at any post of JJ!
Anna Liza, you are very QUICK‼️ I’m thinking you had this one SAVED in a folder‼️ Thank you for the golden view again……
I am honestly shocked of the news Junsu is going to enlist as policeman I thought he always wanted to do active soldier, I mean even Yoochun wanted to do active soldier and tried hard to get it but they didn’t allow him because of his asthma, but sportive Junsu the capitain of FC MAN avoid it this is weird to me especially because I remember during Flower tour concert Junsu talked about wanting to enlist like Jaejoong and try to even have greater grades … I read a lot of bad things about that service (as being an easy serivice and some call it the celebrity unit in disguise) of course many SM idols like Siwon Donghae and Changmin are there but I see them receiving hate for that all the time, after all the hate Junsu received because of breaking up with Hani I wished nothing will expand that hate more but the choice of this service will put Junsu in a new position in the eyes of koreans. I fail to understand what happened to make Junsu change his mind about his service this year, but I pray nothing went wrong with his health and I pray he won’t damage his image because of that. Anyway Junsu Fighting ! it will be hard to send you away too 😥
In America, alternative public service is an option for persons who are drafted into the military, but whose religious beliefs preclude taking another’s life. Perhaps South Korea subscribes to a similar system of remedy.
@Rabi That rule does not exist in SK. In fact, several hundred Seventh days adventists have been imprisoned for refusing to enlist. However. last week history was made when a court ruled for an adventist to be exempted from military service on religious grounds. This will probably be used as a precedent in future court hearings.
Thank you for the info, anna liza p m.
In Korea this is not exist. Police also considered as active duty. When he will enlist at first he will go to the basic military training. The same as JJ went. For 5 weeks he will be training in all military things. Only after this he will be sent to his unit, only to police barraсks not military. Then he will go to additional basic police training and after this he will live in barracks for conscripted police and work in his team.
Not only celebrities go to police. In police you can service in many units: in patrol police, riot police, guard, security… Police also has this promotional unit and if you can pass tests you can get into it. It’s the same as military bands in army or promotional units in marines, navy and air force. Only this unit work on promotion police, not army.
Not only celebrities service in this units. And sometimes celebrity pass police test but not pass test to promotional unit and go to other police work.
@Ninsonian Thank you for the information
@Ninsonian Thank you very much for this detailed information, though it crashes my hopes that we might have more sightings of policeman Junsu than of soldier JJ
I’m betting that Junsu passes EVERY test to get into the promotional unit. Anybody here want to bet he doesn’t? lol
I didn’t think so. 🙂
@ lilibaiyu Isn’t your bet a little too late? He has already passed all the test and has been taken 🙂 :
“On October 27, it was revealed that Junsu ultimately passed the audition for the special promotions unit and plans to enlist early next year. The competition was 1:5 as they were only accepting 3 out of 15 members. Junsu was one of the three to make it, and this was announced through the organization’s home page.
A police rep stated, “For a long time, Junsu inquired into the stages for enlistment and was shown through the formal steps and guided into taking this audition. He looked at the exam for conscripted policemen in Nambucheong, Gyeonggi-do in the middle of this month, then applied for the special promotions unit and ultimately got in. His exact date of enlistment is not yet decided on, but it’s predicted to be sometime in early 2017.”
Wheeeeeeee! Go, JUNSU! No wonder no one wanted to bet with me. lol
Jaechnsu, I feel the same about Junsu going into MS….what ever service he is in. He has been SO present for us while Jae Joong and Yuchun have been away it will be hard, hard to open JYJ3 and not see Junsu’s pretty face!!!! I really hope Junsu will not get hateful comments over his choice of service. I’m sure he will be an example to the men he serves with just like JJ. It breaks my heart that Yuchun is in this horror. I hope his fellow works at Gangham Office are his advocates and not being unkind to him. He does have a winning personality from all I have seen….so I hope that in the short time he had to win his fellow workers….they care for his well being! Goodness, I miss seeing him!
I’m sure Junsu will serve well in whatever service he’s in, he’s a man who always put his everything in his work. I also really hope Junsu will not receive hate as the others even though I really doubt it. My friend is a Siwon fan, she said that they see him all the time because he always have events and performances (it(s part of their job since they are a promotion unit in 1st place), hopefully we’ll see Junsu as much too or even more. I just found out that Junsu is going to be in the police promotion unit that raise awareness against bullies in school and prevent them, it’s a serious problem in South Korea they have a lot of bullies in their schools I think it’s one of the reasons that country has a very high scuicide rate (and also why their Kenetizen bully celebrities all the time), I hope Junsu will help in reducing this serious issue as much as he can, he has a bright personnality and an optimistic mind but I wonder if after he finishes his service JaeChun can be able to troll Junsu anymore I mean he’d be trained for 21 months how to behave against trolls xD
Yes, I also believe Junsu will serve admirably…’cause he is just such an exceptional person! With your statement about bringing awareness to bullying….it makes me wonder if the terrible, terrible situation with Yuchun played into his decision to go into police service. Junsu would want to serve where he could do the most good….so his selection of this police promotional unit would make perfect sense.
Thanks for the ‘trolling’ videos❗️Junsu so walks right into Yuchun and Jae’s net‼️ Aren’t they cuuuute❓
he might be smarter and more aware of the trolling but knowing his trusting nature and love for his hyungs i bet they will still try and still trick him!
Each of the JYJ members can make his choice of everything, whether solely by himself or after having discussions with their agent and fellow members, we don’t know. Why can’t we fans just focus on their performance. I like JYJ, and I believe Junsu will be a good policeman. 🙂
At least by now I hope Junsu is not as much worried as JJ and YC were that we would forget them. We have showed our unshakable loyalty to a soldier, civil servant and and now is our turn to show our loyalty to a policeman. Which we shall wholeheartedly do. Salute, Junsu and congrats on the successful completion of Dorian.
AL….love this comment! A soldier, a civil servant, and a policeman. Unshakable loyalty‼️
love what you said! can’t wait to support junsu too!
Wow! How great is it to read all these comments. Some of you “elders” had me laughing so hard. Of which I am one by the way 🙂 It feels like the old days with so many speaking up for JYJ. It’s still us against the world. I love this fandom 😀
and i love your comment! seems i am in good company!
Galegreenoak…..welcome! But please don’t encourage us ‘elders’ too much. We do love polka dot underwear and white pants! The guy in them isn’t bad either…LOL. For that matter…none of our JYJ men are that bad 😍😍😍
Haven’t been here for a while and these posts had me cracking up! I have a t shirt that says”in dog years I’m dead”and that about sums up my age.Fan wheelchair races, polka dot shorts, and unfailing support makes this the best place to be for a jyj fan!😄
Btw the way, I think that the army used to say that for every man on the front line, there were 9 behind him to provide support, so I personally believe that all forms of service are important. just my opinion. Aw, man if they do a concert together again, I so wanna be there!
Thanks for the good words, Australias. Glad us ‘seasoned’ fans can offer encouragement and giggles to y’all maknae! We all love our JYJ men and support them loyalty! We for sure want them to prosper in whatever they do and want the best for them in their personal lives! And it is true…those also serve who stand and wait.
Kind words to call me a maknae but I am so old that when I get up in the morning, I check the bed to see if anything fell off during the night!😁
LOL I’m at the point where if actually do wake up and after a cursory stroll through my mental faculties decide I still have some – that’s a GOOD day!
Ok, so, maybe I’m not quite that old YET, but when I’m in a concert crowd, I do feel a bit “dated” but who cares? If we can get tickets somewhere, I am going to find a way there!
i don’t care anymore about the age. i am proud to still be their fan and we will find a way to go!
i need a t shirt like that AND i think we all need to meet and greet each other at their next concert! we can show them our golden power and unfailing support !
Well, sis….we could all go and meet outside the venue doors. Which would be great…don’t get me wrong…..BUT WHAT WE NEED IS TICKETS!!! And when Junsu’s end of year concert sells out in 2 minutes…..I could just cry😢😩😢😭😭😭. How can us ‘elders’ ever get tickets??? Do they scalp tickets in Korea?
oh yes they do but what we need is a friend to help us get them. preferably one that lives there. we will figure it out girlfriend. first step to anything you want to accomplish is belief that you can!
KOREAMOM….FIND US A FRIEND‼️😩😩😩😩🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
i am i am at least we have a bit of time before that concert happens to get ready
I think Junsu has chosen well to join the police promotional unit. We all know he is no coward & that he’s not afraid of hard work & that some are implying otherwise is quite distressing. In the police unit, which many attempt to join & are not good enough to get into, Junsu will be able to perform regularly, which we all know is one of his great loves, & which we fans will be able to see him more often than if he was doing military service, & he will be able to help kids who are being bullied, something he & JYJ have had to put up with for years from sm. Unless & until he comes out & says why he made this decision, none of us can know exactly why he’s gone this route, but it’s sad to see that some fans are questioning & doubting his right to make this decision for himself. JYJ are always telling us how much they love us fans, how well we know them, & that they know we always trust them & believe in them – sad to see some fans will stand up & say yes I trust you, I believe in you at those times, but are the first ones to doubt & question the members when they do something those fans don’t agree with or like….
well said….he must have a very good reason to take this route. And Police Enlistment is still active service classify in the same way as active service in the Army. And a great chance to help the disadvantage in society especially the very young, old and aged and their welfares.
Oh & as for the haters, if they are going to hate they will do so anyway, regardless of where Junsu serves. Look at Jaejoong being bashed even when his ms has been exemplary. Like I’ve said before, if JYJ overly cared for what the haters say they would be curled up in the fetal position in their closets too paranoid to leave the safety of their homes, & they certainly would have never left sm if the easy road was what they wanted. Worrying about bitter, envious, unhappy people venting their misery on the internet is a waste of time – they will always be there & although we all hate seeing JYJ targeted, in the long run it doesn’t affect the guys or their careers. Too many people are giving SK netizen trolls too much credibility, when SKs themselves know that those trolls are haters & only a fraction of the population.
Sapphire, totally agree with you 🙂
Reading most of the comments, I am glad to see that this fandom is still full of mature and well thinking people with good heart.
Well said, Sapphire!
Nothing I dislike more than seeing an article that reports on what people have said online. Asking people to share their thoughts on things that they have no knowledge about or shouldn’t even have an opinion on is just absolutely ridiculous. But they do it anyway to increase the amount of articles that they have and in return get more clicks and more money from advertisement. It’s a business where the effect of such articles on the people affected is disregarded in exchange for money and loss of journalistic integrity. Becuase the equivalent of these articles in real life is a field journalist going from door to door asking people at their homes what they think that person who they don’t know should do with their life, and I’m pretty sure if we saw that a large number would say that this is a stupid waste of time and this channel should not be doing reports like this, but since a large number of people can’t seem to make the connection that the cyber world is an extension of the real world, we get nonsense being spread without much thought on what it does to people and their lives. I have known trolls in real life and let me tell you, they do nothing in real life, they are one of the laziest, most spoiled people you’ll ever see, they are quite fearful to confront you in life but they have no problem spewing hate online. Now, these lazy idiots have their worthless views validated by “journalists” and they believe they are right and people should bend their lives to please them because a website said so. Hence, the sad state of news and how they are reported today.
As for Junsu being called a coward, these people fail to realize that police work is still active duty and it is still very hard similar to the military. The unit Junsu will be serving in was a unit a lot of people failed to qualify for it, meaning it is a hard, challenging unit. Also, with SK being in disarray now politically, Junsu might have to practice his police skills a lot more than a soldier might have to practice his soldier skills :D.
As Sapphire said, until Junsu comes out and says why he chose this(not that he should by the way) we have no right to say anything regarding this decision. And if you still want to jump to conclusions, at least give him the benefit of the doubt because he has earned it.
I give them ZERO credibility.
And if a soldier is there to help people survive, shouldn’t there be another person like a policeman to help turn that survival into a life and help them manage it?
All jobs are important, always remember that.
well said. a agree with you!
Well said Sapphire. To this day I wonder about fans who question the decisions the boys, no, I mean the men, make about their own lives. No matter how much we think we might know their inner thoughts and private experiences, we don’t. I choose to trust JYJ and have faith that they will do what is best for them; Career wise and in their personal lives. I’m here to enjoy and celebrate their talent, but I don’t feel the need to judge their decisions. I’m not blind, I know they aren’t perfect and they make mistakes. But who doesn’t? Imagine living a life where every little thing you did you had a chorus of voices crying out from one side or the other that you’re wrong? All I want is for them to have joyful lives without having to worry about offending this fan or angering that fan. And I don’t think they do. That is just part of what I admire about them, they move forward with their lives in their own way. They don’t let others dictate to them. That was the whole point of the lawsuit! I say let them be and enjoy them in whatever they choose to do to entertain us. And lets stay out of their personal lives!
P.S. This comment section has given me new life! It’s wonderful to read all the comments from so many fans here at jyj3
I totally agree with you!
And I am enjoying this comment section as well. It is full of interesting people and interesting thoughts 😀
Well said, galegreenoak, and I wholeheartedly agree with you. I agree too (although I almost hate to say so in case I jinx it) that we seem to have meandered back of late to the way JYJ3 was when I first started reading it and posting here years ago. It was positively filled with amazing, funny and intelligent and insightful ladies who made me laugh, puddle up and vigorously nod “yes yes yes!” nearly every day. It was such a great place to come and talk with those of compatible minds, hopes and dreams for our JYJ. It seemed the list veered off sharply in the intervening years to a lot of rancor and in-fighting – the easy camaraderie and trust was largely gone, as were almost all of those original ladies. Sapphire, you remember the days I’m speaking of I know – you were one of the bright lights of those days and you still are.
It was the best of times and the worst of times. We were all so emotional back then, with good reason. My favorite memory is of the frying pans! Who remembers that? Oh and so many other times when fans banded together and supported each others love for JYJ and stood up to the haters. I was more of a comment stalker back then, only in more recent times have I felt comfortable adding my two cents. I suppose today those of us still here are here for the long run and it’s great to read all your comments and to know that JYJ still has the support of so many international fans. No one else in my life but my daughter can relate to my fan-girling (womaning?) 😀 It’s wonderful when I find that I’m not the only “auntie” fan too. So hopefully we are entering a new era where we can once again just have fun together, laugh together and keep up the fight together! No jinxing allowed!
@lilibaiyu
Thank you 🙂 You’ve always been someone I’ve respected & admired, right from the The JYJ Files. It was a great time, although sometimes stressful with us defending JYJ. I remember when we had the all purpose post here & that would be the first place I’d rush too to catch up with everyone & see all the latest comments. It’s a shame this site changed so much & it became a place where you have to re-think every word of every post & still someone would read something else into it & attack you – something that happens to me a lot given I tend to be naturally flippant! It would be nice to go back to the old JYJ3. There used to be so many intelligent, international fans commenting daily & I’d learn something every day & just really enjoy having a safe space to talk not just about JYJ but about so many things. It would be awesome if we could get back that camaraderie & trust.
I have to say I am sincerely heartened by what I’ve seen here lately. It seems to be directly connected to there being a slightly more mature and intelligent bunch of I-fans that I’ve detected of late. I don’t think any of us want to go back to the days of getting misunderstood, flamed unmercifully, all apologies NOT accepted – those were dreadful times and I know both of us pretty much dropped out altogether for a long while, although NEVER as JYJ fans – not for even a day.
i remember those not so good times too and it is refreshing to be open minded and respectful again. i used to be afraid to comment cause there were a few who would go to war if they disagreed in the least little bit and read all kinds of insults into an innocent comment. i remember when you disappeared from the comments section and it was so sad. now there all lots of really cool fans commenting and supporting JYJ and each other. makes me happy!
Me too, Koreamom! It is truly a wonderful development and I’m very thankful to all who post here for once again giving me the opportunity to chat with JYJ fans, who I think of as My Tribe, and who I never want to be estranged from again.
agreed! and i am getting to know many wonderful friends of JYJ!
“sad to see some fans will stand up & say yes I trust you, I believe in you at those times, but are the first ones to doubt & question the members when they do something those fans don’t agree with or like….”
….. which, as someone pointed out earlier, is a form of bullying. How ironic. I wonder if Junsu has made that connection – what bullies some of his fans can be when they don’t get their way and they have the safety of anonymity online.
I wonder about that too. Bullying in any shape or form is so abhorrent and I hope the guys don’t let it get to them. Currently there is a twitter hashtag I’ve seen being posted to Jaejoong by some Japanese fans that I just don’t understand. Apparently they want him to go out on his own and leave JYJ behind. Of course, I don’t read Japanese so I’m 100% sure that is the intent. But if so, why in the world are they tweeting to him like this? Has he not made it crystal clear how he feels about his fellow members? Why must he put up with negative vibes from so called fans? If I’m correct about the meaning of this hashtag, then I consider it bullying as well. If you are a Jaejoong only fan, that’s fine. Enjoy his solo work as much as you want. But telling him no to JYJ? Really? I just don’t get it.
I’ve seen this too. Some of them even say start your own label and go solo because you sell more albums and Junsu & Yuchun are just holding you back. These people seem to forget that Jaejoong has the names of Junsu & Yuchun tattooed on his body and they also ignore everything he has said about how much he loves them and cherishes them. They also fail to realize that starting a label is not that easy and costs a lot of money and I’m pretty sure the same entity that prevented him from promoting normally for the past 7 years is gonna make sure that the label doesn’t happen and even if it did, who wants to join a label where the founder can’t get himself to be on Television? What will the slogan be: “I can’t get myself on TV but I’m sure as hell you can” because that makes sense businesswise.
They are just immature people stuck in a fantasy and they want Jaejoong to fulfill it no matter what is the cost. They see him as this poor helpless soul that is abused by everybody(including Junsu & Yuchun) and is incapable of making his own decisions and they refuse to listen to reason even if it came from Jaejoong himself because they fell in love with an image they created of Jaejoong, not Jaejoong himself.
Exactly! I love & agree with everything you’ve just written @Zamo.
As a Jaejoong bias it annoys me no end that some fans seem to believe Jaejoong can’t wipe his butt without their help (& I’ve been ostracised by many Jaeharems because of that opinion!)…. Only those who deliberately choose to blind themselves to the reality could fail to see how much Jaejoong, Chunnie & Junsu love, respect, trust & rely on each other. The fact is we wouldn’t have solo careers from any of them now if they hadn’t left sm together & stuck together through thick & thin. The main reason JYJ left sm was because they wanted more freedom & control over their professional & personal lives, to the point they were willing to risk the very real possibility of having to give up their dreams & become farmers, & yet some people are delusional enough to think these 3 grown men will welcome fans – aka complete strangers! – dictating to them how they should live their lives & manage their careers, that they will be happy to see these fans bash & hate on the brothers they love. These fans remind me of YunJae stans who try & force Jaejoong into the character they’ve created for him, refusing to see & accept him for the person he is (regardless of how many times he has openly said he isn’t gay), & yet ironically most of these acgae fans hate YJ & YJ stans with a passion! The bottom line for me is we are fans & yes JYJ loves us, but fans are all we are. That makes us very special people in their lives, but we aren’t their families let alone their parents, their friends, their loved ones, their girlfriends, & no amount of fans could fill let alone replace those kinds of relationships in their lives. If you really love someone, why would you try to destroy those relationships & deprive them of that love, friendship & support that they need & deserve?
Sorry @Zamo that rant wasn’t directed at you, or anyone on this page, just something that’s been building for a while!
@Sapphire…you’ve just mentioned an important point, we are fans and that’s it, people should really realize that. A fan’s job is to love without strings, some might even call it unconditional love. We only see them from afar and that’s how it should be. A compliment is appreciated if they did something right, a constructive critical note is welcomed if they did something wrong and support if the person is really a fan and that’s it, the relationship should not cross that line. We are not immediate family or friends. We should realize that and let people live privately(no demanding of private photos and pictures of their kids if they chose not show them) and peacefully. We should infuse their lives with love, not toxicity.
That’s right. Ergo, if Jaejoong decides to form his own rock band we should give him our full support without any questions. For, what is the difference between Junsu singing in a musical with a totally different troupe or in his end of year ballad and orchestra concert with a grand orchestra of his own and Jaejoong having his small band for his solo performances. Would it not be hypocritical to condone one but condemn the other?
After all while JJ was in the army, JS had two years of musicals and solo performances. But now shall we confine JJ to sit in a corner and not perform rock because he is waiting for JS to serve his duty?
Even if he firms his own rock band that dies not mean he won’t perform as JYJ. They have all been pursuing their individual inclinations and interests whether in film, drama or musicals but in the end they all come together as JYJ and promote themsrlves as JYJ. And , if I am not wrong. JJ has composed more songs for the group than either of the other members.
Conclusion: Let the guys do what they best love to do. They are inseparable and if you have followed them long enough, you would have noticed they are brighter than anyone of us, they don’t need us to interfere in their choices. However, they are also individuals with their own preferences , likes and dislikes and if their likes are your dislikes, then stop following them. Exit quietly without bashing and bullying.
@Anna liza p m
I was talking about the fans that demand Jaejoong goes solo while leaving JYJ forever because they don’t like JJ attached to anybody. Jaejoong has every right to form a band and perform a wider range of rock music like Junsu does with has Ballad concerts but that is not what they are demanding of him, they demand the fulfillment of a fantasy disguised as caring for JJ.
@anna liza pm
I think you misunderstood. Nobody wants to stop any of the members having their solo projects, nor is this a criticism of Jaejoong, Chunnie & Junsu. We just want acgae fans who stan one member & hate on the other two, to respect the friendships & love Jaejoong, Chunnie & Junsu share with each other & to respect all 3 members, their relationships, & their choices, professional & personal, even if they don’t like or love them all. & to give that same respect to their bias instead of questioning, doubting & claiming disappointment in them when that bias does something the fan might not agree with. This whole conversation started because some fans are saying they think less of Junsu for choosing to do his military service in the police unit, & continued with some Japanese fans on twitter who are sending tweets to Jaejoong telling him to leave CJes & JYJ & go solo forever. Your final paragraph summed it up perfectly –
“Conclusion: Let the guys do what they best love to do. They are inseparable and if you have followed them long enough, you would have noticed they are brighter than anyone of us, they don’t need us to interfere in their choices. However, they are also individuals with their own preferences , likes and dislikes and if their likes are your dislikes, then stop following them. Exit quietly without bashing and bullying.”
@Zamo Thanks and sorry if I misinterpreted. I don’t subscribe to any other blogs so wasn’t aware of the wider picture. It was probably because we just celebrated Junsu’s 300 “solo” performances in musicals and considering that Junsu was the first one of the group to do a solo album and solo concerts, it sounded to me as if we are judging the members by different measures. I am glad that we have sorted out the misunderstanding. Cheers 🙂
@anna liza p m
What Sapphire said and cheers. 😀 ❤
@Sapphire looks like we were writing at the same time. Yes obviously, there was a misunderstanding. Although JJ is my bias I have equal respect fir Junsu and Yoo Chun. I stand by Yoo chun in his hour of crisis. As for Junsu, I said on this very page that if we stood by a soldier and by a civil servant we shall alsoi give our full support to a policeman. And I love the relationship of love and respect these three men have for each other and love their songs and performances as a group and bickering as loving brothers. It’s only because I felt that my bias is being unfairly criticized, and being unaware of the whole picture, that I jumped in in his deffence. But I stand by my last paragraph and I have always believed in that.
your last sentence says it all.
“because they fell in love with an image they created of jaejoong, not jaejoong himself.”
@koreamom…….it is the sad truth and the one most affected by it, is Jaejoong himself, having these individuals attach themselves to him and bring only negativity & embarrassment to him and to his fellow members.
@anna liza p m
That’s cool, having read so many of your comments on this blog I thought it must have been a misunderstanding. & your last paragraph was just perfect. I hope more people take it to heart 🙂
I don’t get it either. The term anti-fan is something I just discovered along with KPop and translated k-drama. I had never seen the idea given a word. Yoko Ono comes to mind having been maligned for decades even before the onset of Internet trolling. The notion of spending excessive energy to trash an artist or band or their spouse or what-have-you because you prefer another artist or band more makes no sense to me. Organizing in groups to hate an artist is absolutely abhorrent to me. Music is my happy place. No room for hate on this ship.
Hi galegreenoak:
There are many on this very list who actively feel that way. they are Jaejoong Only fans and actively disparage the other two members and actively lobby for Jaejoong to leave C-jeS and go solo permanently. You’ll find them on every Jaejoong focussed thread but never here, for instance, because it’s Junsu focussed. Here is a little editorial I wrote the last time there was a run-in with certain of these fans:
https://www.facebook.com/notes/stand-up-4-jyj/an-editorial-comment-by-lilibaiyu/550513355087893
Overwhelmingly, I believe these fans can not possibly have the slightest idea who Jaejoong is, how his mind and heart works or where his strongly felt loyalty lies. How they could have completely missed this I can’t imagine, but most importantly, they are continuing to create rancor and disharmony within the JYJ fandom and that damages JYJ and all that they have worked for and suffered for – there’s no other way to say it. I don’t think I’m out of line in saying that this is positively the LAST thing Jaejoong would want or would thank them for.
Yes! I agree with everything you’ve written.
People need to realize that JYJ themselves are in charge of their own careers. C-Jes only does what Jaejoong, Yuchun, and Junsu want not the other way around. I mean JYJ said it themselves in an interview so just snap out of that fantasy and let people live peacefully.
The other day I saw a comment blaming C-Jes for JYJ not appearing on TV and the disheartening thing was these words came from a long time fan. I mean at this point they just want a scapegoat to blame for all the troubles that JYJ face and they have nobody to vent it on except C-Jes, and if you tell them that JYJ are the ones who made this “bad” decision, they completely ignore what you have just said and continue to blame C-Jes because JYJ never make a mistake, they always know what to do and they are now just being abused again. These actions accusing C-Jes of misconduct only bring embarrassment & disharmony to JYJ. These actions achieve nothing, absolutely nothing and people should just stop doing them.
I’ve really enjoyed your comments on this thread, Zamo. Seems we have a lot in common and are of like mind on quite a wide range of subjects. 🙂
Great editorial @Lilibaiyu. CJes has made some mistakes, & frankly imo some really stupid ones, especially the recent gaffe with Junsu. But as you say it’s very doubtful that the fans who make a habit of continually complaining have any in depth knowledge of the Korean entertainment business let alone any knowledge or experience working in a Korean entertainment management company, let alone any knowledge of what’s really going on bts at CJes. Neither CJes nor JYJ are perfect & it’s to be expected that they will make mistakes along the way, but sadly it seems that CJes gets so much continual hate & bashings that when they do do something wrong big time, their response is a weary plea to stop bashing them rather than an attempt to listen to fans concerns or to correct their mistake. From what I have seen, CJes is JYJ’s best option to control their own careers & not have their private lives controlled or interfered with – things that are obviously extremely important to them. Unless & until they say they are unhappy there or want to leave, I think fans are better off supporting the members rather than constantly complaining about CJes & perpetuating more rancor & ill will in the fandom by whining one member is unfairly treated & should leave. Personally I think those types of fans are acgaes who use their constant complaints that CJes mismanages their bias as an excuse to keep pushing for their bias to leave both CJes & JYJ altogether, without any concern for what it is their bias might really feel or want. I don’t know about anyone else, but damn I was so embarrassed & ashamed when Chunnie said that they are the ones in charge at CJes, that they make their own decisions there & CJes follows through on them. That the members have seen all the garbage fans have said & felt the need to come out & defend CJes & make that point was so humiliating for me to see as a fan & I felt so bad for JYJ. As @Zamo said, our job as a fan is to love & support them, not assume that we know their lives & careers better than them & tell them what to do or bitch & complain when they don’t do what we think they should.
you girls are all spot on. i support and cheer your comments. i myself have a very hard time putting thoughts and feelings into words but i sure agree! thanks you all for being a sounding board for JYJ and a mouthpiece for all of us who think it but don’t know how to say it ❤
Thanks, Koreamom. I wrote that after being so frustrated, well – I’d have to say for years with the comments I would read online about what the members should and shouldn’t be doing. At first I thought it was simple immaturity of the poster – just very young fans who pretty much don’t know anything about anything having to do with an entertainment agency and especially one as confounded, blocked and beleaguered at every turn as C-jeS has been since Day 1. Then I started to notice that people who had apparent personal obsessions with one or another of the members and who were not kids, not by a long shot were posting this stuff. I thought, “well, these people I can reason with” (I’ve pretty much given up on the AllKPop type of anti-fan) but NO! They weren’t having it! I thought perhaps they didn’t realize that C-jeS was formed specifically to help JYJ during the industry-wide blacklisting when no other agency had any intention of getting involved, and the extreme level of loyalty and friendship this engendered in the members. At the point C-jeS was formed, the members were so gun-shy about an agency’s control over their lives they tailored their agreement with C-jeS based on always making their own decisions and NOT getting ripped off again.(This is why even with a fraction of the fans DBSK had at the height of their popularity, the members became so rich – each millionaires within 2 years. They were actually receiving the lion’s share of the money they were bringing in for the first time!)
As I said in my editorial, no one is saying that C-jeS has not made mistakes and misjudgements but there is a wide chasm that has formed between fans who relentlessly carp about it on social media and those who choose to stand by JYJ, no matter what, through good times and hard times. Most importantly, none of us know the details behind the scenes as Sapphire pointed out – how difficult it has been for C-jeS every step of the way, all these years dealing with the blacklisting, the transparent excuses of vendors, the outright sabotage, all orchestrated by SM. One would think that fans, even the ones who of course want the best for their favorites would not at the very least abide by JYJ’s own wishes, regarding their own careers and futures.
Thank you so much koreamom, this is very kind of you to say ❤❤
A point should be mentioned, if JYJ leave C-Jes, who do they join? YG who reeks of hypocrisy, JYP who always wants to be more famous than his own groups or maybe go back to the old company or one of the new companies who rack up fake views on their videos and claim they broke records(I’ve worked in an industry that do this all the time to increase the amount of money they get from advertisements and the evidence for it is the amount of sales that is severely disproporionate to the amount of views) and JYJ are honest and don’t lie(evidenced by the amount of time it takes their videos to reach 500,000)
So who?
Hi Zamo –
Here are some further thoughts in that regard:
Any agency that would handle them would have to deal with swift, devastating consequences from SM. NO agency wants to suddenly have to go on the offensive against a company like SM – why should they want that headache and potential for compromising all of their existing groups’ activities?? As competitive as they all are, it’s a ridiculous option. And then there’s the artistic freedom issue: There’s no WAY an agency head would hand over the reins of a troubled artist’s career just like that – can you imagine JYP doing it? I don’t think so. Finally, there’s the money. JYJ or members thereof would want the same split as they had before with C-jeS, certainly not LESS of what ther had – that’s not how the music business works, believe me! As you become more successful, your price only increases.
Even if it all happened, JYJ got everything they asked for and another big company signed them, one or all, what would their new labelmates do when they got wind of the FANTASTIC DEAL JYJ just got, especially the extraordinarily more successful and best-selling acts who were still living in the dorms and eating ramen!? Sounds like an expedited way to have a company wide mutiny on their hands to me.
*all of them rack up fake views, the new and the old. Just set the number of millions you want and let the computer do its job.
Whenever I have thought that Jaejoong or JYJ have made a wrong decision, they have always proved me wrong. So I have learnt to trust in their decisions. They carry very smart heads on those broad shoulders of theirs.
Thank you @lilibaiyu
I enjoyed having thought-provoking conversations with you and other members of this wonderful community and I look forward to having more in the future. 🙂
@lilibaiyu That’s why their best place is C-Jes. They have supported them for the past 7 years standing up against SM, they have given them control over their own lives both professional and personal, they have supported them with new adventures such as C-Jes Culture with Dorain Grey and also Junsu’s self-written musical in the furture, and JYJ most importantly get to enjoy the financial benefits of their hard work.
Also, JYJ are very loyal. I can’t imagine for a second that they will turn their backs on C-Jes. I just can’t see it happen.
Dear Lilibaiyu ~~100% agreement from me!
Just listen to y’all…..such good noona’s for our JYJ men! And new voices that speak wisdom and truth on behalf of JYJ. Thank you, ladies, for everything that has been said on this post over the last few days! It is a pleasure being here with all of you. Sweet people who care so much! JYJ HWAITING ‼️ LADIES OF JYJ3 HWAITING ‼️
Yes, it is so lovely to have meaningful conversations here and to see all the love that is being shared.

😙
ditto to all. i love reading all the comments here and feeling the love and support from all
Yep, this is the BEST place to go to when you want strong and logical fan support for jyj. No fantasy or greedy “I WANT ” fans who only want their ideas of what the guys should do. Their lives should be what they choose for themselves and we are just the happy group that gets to hear their great music, and hopes to do so for many more years. You all deserve a cookie! 😊
lol! make mine mint chocolate chip!
