There’s always been more to this young man than meets the eye. It’s just that what meets the eye is so spectacular, it’s tempting to just want to stop and dwell there… 🙂
Jaejoong never ceases to amaze me!
Talented JJ !
When they said that first multi-pocket Moldir bag was JJ’s creation, I thought hat may be he shared his idea with a professional designer who produced the blue print which JJ approved. I didn’t expect his talents to extend even to design. Then they showed his original sketches with all notes in JJ’s own handwriting and now I have no doubt, he is the true designer and art director of Moldir,
The logo sketches, too, show how his idea developed and his unmistakable handwriting is there to confirm it’s his own design.
Jaejoong is not only talented, he seems to be able to stretch time to fit in so many different activities in what is an impossibly short time for the likes of me.
We know what a perfectionist he is, and how hands-on he is about every detail of his image, how he’s presented and of course, in doing his best for his fans. Because that’s who he is doing all of this for – to give back to his fans whom he loves and who have given him so much. I don’t think he forgets about that for even a minute.
@lilibaiyu Yes Jaejoong is a very rare, extraordinary person. When I think of how he grew up when his mother used to tuck him in a basket under the counter while she was waitressing, the trauma he must have suffered being suddenly plunged into a ten member family where the parents were so busy making a living that he was left more or less to his own devices; finding himself alone in the city at a very impressionable age when negative influences are stronger than positive, I marvel how he cultivate in himself such sophistication and the balance of being so strong yet do delicate. He can walk among princes and stand out with his demeneaur both magnanimous yet exacting. And my admiration and respect for him grow even stronger. There is so much I can learn from him. When I watched his interview with Jarvis Chow, I noted how he looks at the bright side and puts aside the hardships (rather than talk about the hard times, let’s talk about my colleagues, the soldiers) always giving credit to others – the soldiers who were so good to him. “I am just like any human. It’s my staff who make me appear handsome” – both modest and appreciative. I consider myself so lucky to have “discovered” him and to be inspired by him.
@bornfreeonekiss 👍🌻💚💚💚
We’re SUPER PROUD, super talented designer, musician, solo artist and the list goes on …
#Jaejoong #ジェジュン #김재중 #金在中 💚
So his designs, military life among other are in his Treasure Book.
It looks like it’s going to be in Japanese. Is there any info if there will be some English translation, even if partial?
I think this Treasure Book is for global market so there must be English or other major language trans. (just my guess)
“Officials of the publishing company stated, “We wanted to work with an artist who has a worldwide influence.”
from : http://officiallykmusic.com/jyjs-jaejoong-becomes-first-korean-celebrity-release-treasure-book/
“The ‘Treasure Book’ is a publication that includes rare photos and personal recollections of notable celebrities. The series has covered legendary names such as, Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Star Wars, Mickey Mouse, and Japanese baseball player Sadaharu Oh. It’s quite an honor to hear that Jaejoong will be be featured in such a prestigious publication series!”
@ Kris Thank you for this detailed info.
Have they started taking orders? Where can we pre-order?
@anna liza
I’m waiting for English websites but Japan has been taking pre-orders weeks ago, and in Korea, the link for pre-order is given in this post:
[INFO] 170321 J Holic Shop opens with sale of Kim Jaejoong’s Treasure Book in Korea
https://jyj3.net/2017/03/24/info-170321-j-holic-shop-opens-with-sale-of-kim-jaejoongs-treasure-book-in-korea/
It doesn’t look like they ship internationally. I’ll wait for Yesasia to get it – I’m sure they will, they’ve gotten everything else so far.
@ Kris, thank you. I had noted the Cafe J holic link when JJ visited there but it looks like they are selling only within Korea and I know nobody there. So will have to wait for English sites.
@ Lilibaiyu Referring to you since you have been in the music industry. I have been wondering why aren’t any of JJ’s CDs or photo books being sold at his Jholic cafe and the Bum’s restaurants or together with the stuff designed for the concert venue?To me these would be the easiest and time saving places to buy his music if I went to Korea for his concert. After all, the concerts are meant to promote his music. Even if he himself is not registered to trade in that, the music shops could open a pop up stall
That would be a total management/Jaejoong call, Anna Liza. In Korea, your management is your record company which is also your merchandising management. Since Jaejoong directs all of them, it would be his call. There may also be another factor, where it would be considered under-cutting music retailers/record stores’ business to sell these items, so there may be a prohibition there. I see a few items of pop group merchandising of various kinds on Yesasia but those for JYJ and the members tend to sell out quickly at the concerts and they are probably produced in limited quantity only for those who attend the concerts.
@Lilibaiyu I think, it was in Thailand where they said that after the concert there, the sales of his albums shot up, so I thought that if the retailers themselves opened up a pop up shop at the venue (like the pop up shop Jaejoong had in Seoul and Japan to promote Moldir just before he enlisted) that they will make good sales and it would be convenient for the concert goers. But as you say, that is JJ and Cjes business. I only thought from my own point of view, what would be convenient to me.
It wouldn’t be the first time C-jes has “left money on the table” as they say, but beyond that, unless we know their actual thinking, I don’t judge. There is a concept in marketing that scarcity drives the perception of rarity and thus drives demand. It could be as simple as that. It may also be that once Jaejoong has moved on to his next project, all company resources/personnel working directly for him move on with him.
