Although I haven’t yet watched the last two episodes, I will venture my twopence on the ending of Manhole. I remember at the beginning almost everybody was against Bong Pil and SoJin ending together as a couple and wanted Jin Sook to be his gf. Well, now the tide has reversed and everybody wants a PilSu union. And it looks like the drama is drawing towards such closing.
We have had glimpses of BP storming the wedding ceremony just as Soo Jin and the pharmacist are exchanging their vows and screaming his objections, we have had another glimpse of BP kneeling and proposing to SJ and the two of them in a wedding ceremony, Were these glimpses of what the actual ending of ep.16,is? i.e. BP achieves his dream and marries SJ?
True, there was a travel to the future, one year after the wedding But when BP found himself in that time frame, he didn’t know SuJin was already married. How come a whole year after the wedding BP didn’t know that the prime object of his interest was married? Or may be that travel into the future was just as imaginary as the travels into the past?
By definition a romcom has a happy ending with the marriage of the lead male and female characters. Manhole was classified as a romcom so, it seems, it is crawling towards such ending. But, also by definition, in a romcom both leads are in love with each other but have to overcome a series of obstacles to test their true love and loyalty to each other, thus causing humorous situations and laughter.
But there is a twist in Manhole which makes it more of a tragi-comedy than a romantic comedy. It is a one-sided love story which makes Bong Pil a tragic hero, however comically he may behave when he throws his tantrums. SJ has clearly not only verbally expressed but even through body language shown that she has no romantic feelings towards BP.
I do not want them to come together. Bong Pil with his pure, sincere and even naive love deserves similar reciprocated love from his girl. But if SuJin leaves the pharmacist because BP produces last minute evidence that he is an evil, cruel creature thus saves her life so she finally turns her sights on BP, well I wouldn’t accept that. BP, for so many years, has made so many sacrifices for her, favours and little rescues which she never appreciated, does she have to wait for BP to risk his life to save hers?
This is gratitude and gratitude does not equal love. Bong Pil, you deserve a girl who, with her love will help you grow in your studies, in your career, in your life and not one that you are running after, trying to rescue her from herself at the expense of your own life and happiness.

OMG, I think the same as you guys! I think that he deserves better, even when Sujin makes a decision because she cares about the safety of Pil (emocionally and phisycally), is selfish make a decision without considerating his opinion. He deserves a woman, not a girl that is volupious and for little mistakes just decide to give up on him.
