First of all, thanks to each and everyone of you who sent letters for the JYJ3 Project “Thanks to you…” we started some weeks ago. (In case you missed the post, you can check it out here). Thank you for taking part in the project and for the cards, fanart, photos or poems you have sent. We really appreciate your encouraging messages to JYJ3 team too.

Since the project is coming soon to an end, we thought it would be good to keep you updated. In case you sent a letter, you can check the letters received so far at the end of this post. [TRANS] 120906 Junsu, the Hallyu pioneer who opens the path for Kpop concerts in Mexico and South America

Kim Junsu, member of JYJ, is visiting Mexico for the first time, becoming the first Korean artist to offer a concert in this country.

Previously, JYJ visited Chile, becoming the first pioneering artists to open the hopes of future K-pop concerts in South America.

Last March JYJ visited Chile and Peru opening the path of future concerts for more Korean stars. In the case of these two countries, they have been successful in opening the path to Kpop bands as next October Big Bang will offer a concert as part of their Alive World Tour.

JYJ fan club in Mexico, with the support of other fan clubs and the Korean Consulate, got the attention of South Korean media for an event which will take place next Wednesday afternoon. This event will help South Korean agencies to observe the growing phenomenon of Kpop in Latin America. Taking into account that continents tend to unify, if Mexican fans are able to impress the journalists, Korean producers may consider Mexico and Central and South America for future concerts.

Although previously the CEO of one of the main entertainment agencies in Korea said in an interview that South American market wasnt too desirable as it didn’t represent big monetary benefits, with these results it’s inevitable that businesses pay attention to these countries as future markets to explore.

The musician, who has already visited Chile with the group JYJ, will present his solo artist proposal next 10th of September in Caupolican Theatre. “Korean pop is a music very energetic and sensual”, said the singer to LaNacion.cl

Junsu Xia, one of the greatest exponents of K-pop, has already been in Chile together with the group JYJ, in March of 2012. That time, he could perceive the craziness this tendency provokes in the previously known as local “calcetineras” (bobbysoxers) who spend the night at the airport, hotel and finally in the venue where the Oriental group presented themselves. [NEWS] 120620 JYJ and K-pop at Agence France-Presse: South Korea’s K-pop spreads to Latin America

News of the arrival of South Korean boyband JYJ prompted hundreds of fans to camp out on the streets recently to get closer to the trio. But this wasn’t in Seoul or even Tokyo: it was in Lima.

Having taken Asia by storm over the past decade with bubblegum hooks and dance moves infused with military precision, South Korea’s K-pop phenomenon continues to defy language barriers and find fans around the world. As South Korea continues to export its culture, K-pop’s polished fusion of influences ranging from hip-hop to dubstep is winning a growing number of passionate followers in Latin America.

JYJ has held sellout concerts there and a Colombian TV station is airing a K-pop talent show. Latin American fans have posted hundreds of videos on YouTube showing flash mobs emulating K-pop dance moves and urging their favourite stars to visit the continent, despite many not having officially released songs outside Asia.
