The year of 2012 means a lot for JYJ′s Kim Junsu. It was a year in which his feats as a member of his group and as a solo singer both prospered.
This year he released his first solo album, successfully led a world tour with his name on it and as a musical actor, won the Best Actor Award.
While his fellow JYJ members Park Yoo Chun and Kim Jae Joong took on acting, Kim Junsu led a successful career as a singer despite his inability to appear on TV to perform.
Are we in the era of JYJ?
JYJ members Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu are each excelling in films, dramas, and in musicals, drawing the attention of the fans and the industry giants alike.
Kim Junsu fans stepped up once more to show their love for the talented star.
On October 29 at the Korea Musical Awards, in which Kim Junsu went home with the best actor award, the hallways of the Olympic Hall was seen filled with various congratulatory rice wreaths from fans all over the world.
The rice wreaths came from fans from Japan, China, southeast Asia and all around the world with encouraging messages. In all, some 200kg of rice were collected for charity in Kim Junsu’s name which were seen stacked along with various bouquets of flowers.
Kim Junsu fans previously collected and donated 790kg of rice for the premiere of Kim Junsu’s musical Mozart while the premiere of his musical Elisabeth brought in a whopping 2.68 tons of rice.

Junsu Kim has won the Best Actor for a Leading Role
18th Korean Musical Awards was held at Olympic Hall at Olympic Park, Bang-I dong Seoul on 29th October.
Junsu Kim won the Best Actor for a leading role with ‘Elisabeth’, beating Jeong Han Ryu (Two City Story), Seong Hwa Jung (La Cage Aux Folles), Seung Woo Jo (Dr. Zhivago) and Jung Min Hwang (Man of La Mancha). He also won the Most Popular Actor too, which made him double-winner of the day.
He could not even leave his seat for a while as if he could not believe that he had been called for the award, and sent his regards to fans and other actors/actresses with softened tears in his face and the host Jimin Hong gave him a hug for celebration.
