Popularity Award Kim Junsu
“I am very happy to be receiving the Popularity Award from the most fair Golden Ticket Awards.”
Kim Junsu came running from finishing his hair dyeing in an intense ‘red’ for musical <Dracula> that’ll be opening soon; and was filled with the ‘flush’ of joy and pleasure on his face, as much as his hair color. He was chosen as the winner of the Popularity Award from the 2015 Golden Ticket Awards; since he drew the audience’s applause once again in showing good acting from undertaking the role of the genius detective L in <Death Note> –that was classified as 2015’s [most-]anticipated production from before its performances last year and had received many people’s attentions, and in which he set once again a sellout record despite having the variable where audience members’ access can drop to a certain degree to be located in a venue in Seongnam, not Seoul.
“<Death Note> is a production that I had great concerns about as much as I really wanted to try doing it. Although it is a well-known manga, I was able to correspond it to our country’s musical audiences. It is true that it may also had been a burden as an actor to undertake a character with so many features –like Ryuk, Rem, and L– and laced with an exact fantasy. But after looking at all the works, because it was a time that one can see and reflect about human life, I truly liked that it was a work that contained such a message.”
In particular he made headlines, in showing fervor immersed in his last installment (57 shows [of <Death Note>]) as apart of an one-cast. “It was made up of so many good actors. I might have given up along the way provided that I was alone if anything, but I had mustered up more courage and strength to stay by the people who understood all the hard work. I feel like it was the driving force that we all got up to 57 shows safely that way with one another.”
As soon as the new year starts, he returns to the intense stage again and as <Dracula>’s vampire. Besides being on a stage this time that can be seen for only 2 weeks after 2 years as a superb work among the topics of 2014, Kim Junsu looked to carefully announced another new musical this year.
“I was also planning on releasing an album but I had on my mind that I want to present a musical that I love as much as I can. It seems good that I haven’t decided exactly what but I am looking forward to be given time to fully be able to meet you with a certain work, besides <Dracula>.”
