[INFO] 110307 Oricon Charts Officially Announces that JYJ’s Memories DVD Won’t be Ranked

JYJ3’s Note: Readers of JYJ3 already know that Avex blocked JYJ’s new DVDs from being ranked on Oricon (see our post). The DVD, however, has done extremely well, ranking $#1 on major charts such as HMV (see our post).

On March 7, Oricon made an official announcement, confirming that JYJ’s Memories in 2010 shall not be ranked in Oricon. The reason, as stated previously, is that Avex has put a stop to JYJ and does not want to promote JYJ in any way whatsoever (though it wishes to make a profit from JYJ by releasing these products).

[INFO] 110303 Avex Deliberately Won’t Put JYJ Memories DVD on Oricon

Avex Entertainment announced in September 2010 its decision to put a stop to JYJ’s activities. Since then JYJ have not been able to do any substantial activities in Japan.

Nonetheless, even though Avex has barred JYJ from doing entertainment activities in Japan under their label, it has released many products that heavily feature JYJ and are highly profitable. The recent DVD titled “JYJ Memories in 2010” is an example.

Despite the DVD’s apparently popularity due to its featuring JYJ, the DVD is not on the Oricon Chart.
