[NEWS/INFO] 130719 About JYJ’s Jaejoong and Junsu’s Enlistment in the Military

Today it was reported the following news: “JYJ’s Kim Junsu and Kim Jaejoong to enlist In the military this year” (read below), please take note the news it was only assumptions by the reporters and anonymous “insiders”, Cjes announced there isn’t an exact date scheduled for Jaejoong and Junsu to do their military service.

There are still JYJ’s group activities programmed that collide with the alleged Jaejoong and Junsu’s Military Service dates reported by the korean media. JYJ are honorary ambassadors of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games (read more here), this event will take place in Korea, from September 19 to October 4, 2014. So JYJ as honorary ambassadors will have the responsibility to promote this important event. And don’t forget about the upcoming JYJ’s new album that the members themselves have assured it will be released soon.

We don’t know for sure the reasons for this new outbreak of old news. As a fan of JYJ, you must know that this theme (JYJ & Military Service Duty) was reported in several occasions, the pressure JYJ have received is big compared to other celebrities that are older than Jaejoong.  JYJ will have to do their Military Service some day, but for the reasons exposed we doubt it’s the date reported by the Korean Press, celebrities mostly push their enlistment date back till their early 30s, so JYJ could follow the same path. 

[NEWS] Are JYJ’s Junsu and Jaejoong planning to enlist at the end of this year?

JYJ‘s Junsu and Jaejoong may be aiming to enlist in the military at the end of the year, according to music industry insiders. 

As you know, this topic has been brought up several times before, and it’s one that will be taking place eventually whether fans are prepared for it or not. The last time it was discussed in the media, it was mentioned that Jaejoong had delayed his enlistment to the end of 2012, but was eligible to defer again, which he seems to have done as it is now 2013.An insider stated, “[Junsu and Jaejoong] are currently arranging the date with consideration to their overseas concerts and schedules. [They will enlist] probably towards the end of the year, if not, around January or February of next year.”

Because JYJ will do their military service in the next years, we have decided to share the following news.

“Ministry of Defense announces decision to abolish celebrity recruit unit + to issue out punishment to 8 celebrity soldiers”

After completing their investigation into the issues raised regarding celebrity recruits in the military, the Ministry of Defense held a press conference to announced their decision.

The most pressing question on hand was whether the celebrity recruit department would be abolished as it had been in place for the past 16 years. The Ministry of Defense announced today that they will indeed abolish the system.

“After the investigation on the promotional department of the military, we have decided to abolish the ‘promotional support brigade’ [which the celebrity recruits are under],” said the spokesperson.

On why they decided to make this decision, the rep said, “The promotional support brigade was set up to promote the military and raise the morale of soldiers, but due to the unpleasant issues that have occurred, the military’s image has only been tarnished… It has also brought down the morale of other soldiers who have been diligently serving… As the purpose of the celebrity soldier branch is to promote the military, the public’s faith is important, but due to various problems, we have only lost the public’s faith.”

As for the punishment of celebrity soldiers they’ve found to have performed problematic acts, the Ministry of Defense revealed that 8 will be receiving punishment following the regulations laid out in their department. All 15 celebrity soldiers in the current ‘promotional support brigade’ will be reassigned to different units on August 1st.

For the 3 celebrity soldiers who have 3 months or less until their discharge, they will be reassigned to an active duty unit to carry out the same tasks that ordinary soldiers are asked to do.

The celebrity soldiers receiving punishment will be reassigned to a new unit after they’ve carried out their punishment.

The spokesperson said in conclusion, “We are sorry for causing concern to the citizens on the matters regarding celebrity soldiers. We fully realize the need to take responsibility for the insufficient management.”

[NEWS] JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun will postpone joining the army

JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun recently received a physical examination and was considered as a reservist.

On May 3, Park’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, said, “Park received a physical examination for three times because he was rated 7. He finally received rate 4 due to asthma.”

As a result, Park will do alternative service and he has to enter the boot camp on May 21.

Last October, JYJ Kim Jaejoong had signed up for delayed enlisting with the Military Manpower Association.

An official from C-Jes, JYJ’s company, has stated in a phone interview “Kim Jaejoong had applied for a deferment of his military enlistment and was granted it from the MMA”

International activity and long periods of staying abroad were sited as the reasons for the postponing of enlistment. Because Kim Jaejoong is also attending Kyung Hee Cyber University, the reasons for the citing this source instead of academic ones promoted questions that he had been expelled. About these questions an official said “Kim Jaejoong is still in school, the rumors about his expulsion are not true” and “because JYJ had frequent overseas promotions, that is why we filed the documents for overseas stay”

[NEWS] JYJ’s Jaejoong defers his military enlistment to August 2012

It’s just been reported that JYJ‘s Jaejoong has delayed his military enlistment, citing ‘overseas stay’ as his reason. At this time, his enlistment date has been pushed back to August 31st, 2012. However, if he wishes to postpone his enlistment date then, he will be able to request for a deferment, provided that he has a reasonable excuse.

Jaejoong received his military draft notice back in September. Although he’s currently a student enrolled in Kyung Hee Cyber University as a communications major, he’s reached the age of 24. Consequently, he’s of age where he could be included in the draft despite still being a student.

C-Jes Entertainment told Dispatch over the phone, “Jaejoong has requested for a deferment of military enlistment. He has received permission from the Military Manpower Administration. The enlistment was postponed since there are a lot of overseas promotions this year. There is no problem with him promoting until August of next year.”

[NEWS] Controversy over JYJ’s health check-up in their mid-twenties for military service

JYJ, who got a physical check up in their mid-twenties, is drawing attention recently.
There was growing controversy over JYJ, since they delayed their physical check-up for 5 years when it is required to get a physical check up at 19 years old.

However, recording to Seoul Military Manpower Administration, JYJ delayed their check up for a valid reason.

On the 16th, military administration said, “The sayings about ‘entertainer favors’ is nonsense. They delayed their physical check up because of they often leaved the country since when they were 19 years old.”

He added, “If one stays in the country for more than 60 days, you get a notification for the physical check up. As far as I know, JYJ didn’t satisfy this rule.” (Translators note: He means JYJ never stayed more than 60 days in Korea since they were 19 years old.)
JYJ got their physical check up on the 14th. However, they announced they don’t have a plan to join the army this year.

[INFO] About The Health check-up for military service in Korea

All of the Korean male has the obligation to serve in the military. Generally they get the notice for health check-up for military service when they become 19~20 years old. And then they take the check-up. So our boys took it very late. Anyway they were classified 5-grade by their health conditions. The men who were given 1~3rd grade will become the soldier in active service. And the men who were given 4th grade will become public service workers. The men who were given 5th grade will be exempted, Men who were given 5th grade are generally disabled or patients to have troubles in their daily life. But our boys can’t be the man who is exempted.

They’ll have to receive a basic miltary training for 4~6 weeks although they got the exemption. It is the the obligation of the Korean men.

And I can’t predict when they enter the service. But what is not in doubt is the fact that they have to enter the service within 2~4 years by the military service law.

On average, normal Korean men enter the service at the Korean age 21~24. But entertainers are a little bit different to normal people. They enter it pretty late. But they won’t go there too late. Because they have the trouble adjusting to adapt to there if they enter there too late.

So nowadays, other singers or actors enter the service at the Korean age of 28~30. Many Korean artists did.. For example.. Cho In Sung, Kang Dong Won, Lee Jun Ki, so on.. and Hyun Bin will enter the service as a Marine.
