The stamp with Sungkyunkwan Scandal –the drama starring Hallyu star Park Yuchun from group JYJ– on it, will be published. This Sungkyunkwan Scandal stamp is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Japan, and of course, is a special event designed to welcome the 10th anniversary of the birth of the Hallyu star. The stamp will be sold in a limited edition of 10,000 sets, as a Japanese version; and is slated to be issued out officially at the post office from August 24.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal is a work that pitched and entertainingly portrayed the love of Confucian scholars back then with a heaviness unique to a historical drama and drew great popularity as the work that served as a momentum in recognizing Park Yuchun –who has a strong singer image– as an actor. This drama did also draw great popularity in Japan, and is the work that made Park Yuchun raise to the rank of Hallyu star in a single bound, too.
This Sungkyunkwan Scandal stamp includes making a compilation of scenes with unreleased cuts or photos, and other high collectional values. Aficionados who loves ordinary stamps, of course, are expected to attract hot interests from Hallyu fans. In particular, it seems like it’ll be a nice gift to present to Hallyu fans before Park Yuchun enters into the army, that’s scheduled for after his fanmeetings are conducted in Japan, in June and July.
This Sungkyunkwan Scandal stamp will be issued out officially in Japan on August 24.
