JYJ did the “Love Always” campaign for UNAIDS back in late Aug 2011 (see info here). This is the video of the interview that preceded their “Love Always” message, just newly released! ^__^
Though its gone through its fair share of troubles, JYJ has managed to rise up as one of the most influential idol groups.
Not only has JYJ held several charity concerts, but the group is also famous for donating their paychecks, either from individual projects, or from concert tours.
The group also partnered with Elle Magazine and World Vision to create the ‘Mango Tree Project’ in 2011, which aimed to gift mango trees, symbolizing hope, to Sudanese children.
JYJ also made news when it donated 200 million won to the Thailand flood relief, helping students and schools who were affected by the devastating floods, as well as 600 million won to the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief.
Thanks to these hugely charitable acts, JYJ and its members have been recognized as honorary ambassadors by several major organizations, including the Good Library Project, the Nuclear Security Summit, and UNAIDS.
Dear JYJ3 Readers,
We are pleased to inform you of the details concerning JYJ’s donation project for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
On December 26 our Project Admin made the donation to UNAIDS electronically, with the final donation amount totaling $2,729.57 USD. Fans from 25 countries all over the world contributed to our donation project. We want to say thank you to those who were able to participate and express our pride in having such caring and generous fans in the Republic of JYJ ^.^
As you know, despite not being able to appear on TV in South Korea and always having busy schedules full of activities in order to meet their fans, JYJ make the time to take on ambassadorships for good causes as well as do and promote charitable works. We chose to donate to UNAIDS because JYJ’s ambassadorship activities in 2011 increased our awareness of this organization and hope UNAIDS, as well as other organizations within and outside of South Korea, recognizes the power of JYJ and their fans across the globe.
We make this donation to UNAIDS in honor of JYJ and as we celebrate the holiday season, we strengthen our determination to support JYJ in 2013! Again, we want to thank all of you that participated and we hope you will continue to support JYJ3’s projects in the future.
Thank you for your attention,
25 countries that participated in the UNAIDS Donation Project (Germany, Peru, Sweden, Canada, United States, Singapore, Japan, Colombia, Indonesia, Scotland, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Philippines, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Spain, Aruba, Lithuania, Malaysia, Denmark, Italy and Switzerland)

Group JYJ used relay tweets to promote world AIDS day.
As United Nations “UNAIDS” goodwill ambassadors, the JYJ members spread publicity for world AIDS day through their twitter.
Kim Jaejoong tweeted “Do you guys know we are UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassadors? Junsu, what special day is December 1st?” to which Kim Junsu responded “Don’t forget December 1st is World AIDS day”. Park Yoochun finished the relay of tweets by promoting the UNAIDS twitter and website. The members tweeted in english, attracting the attention of International fans.
The relay promotion of JYJ caused a hot reaction on twitter. Each of the members have more than 500,000 twitter followers from across the world who sent messages for world AIDS day in many languages.
