SBS ‘Rooftop Prince’s popularity overseas seems to be growing larger as international coverage is becoming intense already.
Recently SBS was contacted by a news team requesting to cover ‘Rooftop Prince.’ Although the popularity in Korea of the drama is already widely known however the news team that requested permissions was from Singapore’s NBC Universal has surprised many.
Singapore’s NBC Universal news team visited on April 24 to cover the drama. Although the hallyu wave within Singapore is well known, yet it’s still extremely unusual for an international media to dispatch a reporter to cover a drama that hasn’t even concluded in Korea.
One of the reporters from Singapore’s NBC Universal explained, “The popularity of ‘Rooftop Prince’ in Singapore is very high. Within several hours of the broadcast in Korea the episode will be translated with subtitles in various languages on the internet,” sharing about the ‘Rooftop Prince fever’ within Singapore.
‘Rooftop Prince’ producer Shin Yoon Seop expressed, “Although we are having difficult time shooting as we pass over first half of the series, we are enjoying the shooting as we hear the good reviews and responses. I’m thankful to hear the high popularity overseas and it makes us feel more responsible.”
i wish Malaysia will do the same…we’re not just fever but we have ‘rooftop disease’……………..
¡RTP fighting!!
^___________^ rooftop prince fighting!!!
International RTP corespondent? Can I have that job?
^______^
My fellow neighboring country ….awesome!!! …
*proud* GREAT DRAMA to be honest. But, I wouldn’t try this hard just to watch it’s episode if it weren’t for you know who.
What is Singapore NBC Universal? O_O….? What happened to MediaCorp?
haha….we in singapore didn’t even know that there’s such a thing as Spore NBC Universal…maybe reporters are really just Chunnie fans 😉
Ya. I dont know either. Have to check out later. ha ha! Anyway, that’s good news!

May be it’s a little strange, but I can assure the stuff that “Rooftop Prince” , via internet, is watched in Romania as well , with just a small difference of time. And , even if the translation comes only the second day, we can see it as we already know what it is about. We are waiting impaciently every episode coming .Fighting!
I ‘m from Singapore and I confess to being a Rooftop Prince addict. No, make it Park Yu Chun addict.
I watch every RP episode online raw even when I don’t understand a word of Korean. Because there is no such thing as” waiting” when watching Chunnie on film. Then I would watch a 2nd time when it’s subbed in English a day or two after the raw version is out. And a 3rd time almost immediately. That is how addicted I am to RP. Further repeat viewings will come once the DVD is out.
This is really Chunnie in his element, even better than his amazing performance in SKKS where I first fell in love with him , not knowing who he is.
Every wait for the next RP episode is a slow torture you don’t wish on your worst enemy.
Yes, they should be aware of how popular This show is to foregin viewers. Like I remember having to wait some days for all the subs. I get 100 percent subs in the same day it premeires for this drama AWESOME.
In love with Chunnie’s acting and the show.
Reblogged this on jinyjs.
I thought that 2. Usually the hot and new dramas have subbed after 2 or 3 days 100% but now RTP’s exceptional !!! It’s subbed 100% in the day after it aired.
Now I can’t survive w/o viki, their team sub (love their team name) is amazing.
I hope RTP will gain more popular and then will be able to sell the drama to many countries with higher price !
Fighting the whole casts, director, scriptwriter and staffs!!!
I never have worried or anxious when watching his previous dramas but why I care too much for RTP such as caring Chunnie’s health or checking rating for each episode, concern on how audiences comment RTP or whether the drama’s doing well to the last episode … I care too much cuz RTP means alot to YC, his career acting too and his fans too. After so many things happened to him, he still can stand on his own and put more efforts to do better and better. I bet 1 or non person can do like him in his position! The more I know him the more I fall in love with this guy in both in and outside!
Yuchun, cast and crew are doing an awsome job! I know the writers are doing their best to keep the story fresh and lively(Don’t let us down, Lee Hee Myung) 😀
