On yesterday’s episode of MBC’s “Miss Ripley,” Song Yoo Hyun (Park Yoo Chun) invited his fiancé Jang Mi Ri (Lee Da Hae) to his house. He also invited Jang Myung Hoon as well.
Jang Myung Hoon hinted to Jang Mi Ri, “I had a woman that I was dating but I recently broke up. She was just too full of greed for me to be able to handle.” Upon hearing those words, Jang Mi Ri’s face stiffened.
The two continued their conversation while Song Yoo Hyun was gone. Jang Mi Ri stated “Even if you state it that way, I won’t go back to you,” and Jang Myung Hoon replied, “I won’t wait for you.” He added “That’s not what I’m hoping for because loving you and making you turn like this were all my fault.”
Song Yoo Hyun’s face hardened as he happened to overhear their conversation. Jang Myung Hoon asked Jang Mi Ri, “Do you sincerely love Song Yoo Hyun?.” However, Jang Mi Ri’s answer was not revealed.
On her car ride back home, Jang Mi Ri tried to strike a conversation with Song Yoo Hyun. However, he remained silent. The only thing he said was “I heard. Good job.” His face was dark the whole time. Jang Mi Ri became anxious.
MBC’s “Miss Ripley” received viewer ratings of 13.9% yesterday, a slight increase of 1.0% from Monday, according to statistics by AGB Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, SBS’s “Warrior Baek Dong Soo” and KBS’s “Baby-Faced Beauty” which are aired during the same time slot received 10.6% and 16.2%, respectively.

WAIT, IS HE FINALLY GETTING IT?
THANK GOD!
That is right MiRi, your filthy castle of filth-filthy lies is tumbling down!
Sorry for the redundancy but I do that when I’m excited. He is starting to have doubts and by the end of the episode it seems that either he definitely knows or HE WILL definitely know after he is through with that Japanese pimp.
Yep, liar liar pants on fire, Ms. Liar McLiarton!
@MIA2
@I’m sensing some hostility here…. Is it that you don’t like Jang Miri??
Yo lilibaiyu what’s up?
YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I can’t stand characters like her! Horrible people and you would be scared to know how many like her there are in real life….or maybe not since you are far more intelligent than me. Also we all know of Lee Soo Man…so yeah…..Anyways I will definitely love LDH more for this role because she portrays MiRi so well. The writing is key of course but a mediocre actress would not be able to compel no matter how good the dialogue is! There is another reason though;
My idea is this: (it is flawed and based on something very personal in my life) People like Jang Miri are weak. Why? Because everything in her life serves as an excuse for her. She was adopted by bad people, life dealt her a hard card
and her weak position (along with people’s bigotry) has caused her much suffering. What is her rationalization? “If HeeJoo had been adopted instead this would have never happened. I could have had her life.”
1. Why so sure? Any other, equally bad couple could have come along to adopt her after avoiding the first attempt. You can’t predict alternative realities Ms. Ego. Only contemplate them.
2. You don’t blame the bitch who abandoned you, the one who was supposed to protect you but you have no qualms using and blaming people who have never done anything to you?
3. While this is a harsh world filled with many bad people, there also many more decent, good people. She has rationalized that it is normal for people in general to take advantage of anyone because that is what happened to her. She accepts it.
She doesn’t ever bother to question that if that were the case why are there others who have extended their hands towards her without expecting anything in return? ex: HeeJoo
I won’t use Yoo Hyun or Myung Hoo because they wanted her as theirs in return…they aren’t really the most noble of characters even if they have been duped by MiRi. I particularly pity Myung Hoo though.
4. My grandmother was like that. Grandad died very young leaving her alone with 7 kids to feed and she chose to never marry again. She would take out her rage on my mom and my uncle (the two eldest) with savage beatings and all she could say was, “If you were in my shoes you would have done the same” Funny though since my mother’s life hasn’t been the peachiest either yet she never used her problems as an excuse to mistreat me. Ever. My mother forgives her but doesn’t understand her.
I don’t even want to look at that woman. She can’t admit she was wrong and she can’t stop being a self-pitying liar. Her past is all that matters to her. Whenever she begins to admit that what she did wasn’t right she goes back to her “I was young and frustrated” story. If she rationalized it as a reason to do what she did BUT also realized it was wrong of her to do so for all the suffering she caused I would forgive her but she won’t and that makes her so pathetic.
I didn’t mean to project that part of my life onto a fictional character (I’m not one of those psychos that go, “Oh no she is hurting my future hubby Yoochun!”) but MiRi reminds me a lot about her. Her fear (but really the hope that she can get away with her lies) keeps her from being woman enough to own up to the truth.
I can’t be as kind-hearted as my mother. I guess in that sense I’m weak too.
…….OMG. This is a long response.
@Mia2
“YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I can’t stand characters like her! ”
Yoooooooo, Mia! What up, yourself! 🙂 Thanks for your kind estimation of my I.Q. As I have shared here before I really used to be a lot smarter until I started watching K-dramas, started muttering to myself in Korean and generally worrying friends and family. But enough about my nightmare. 🙂
I liked your analysis of JM’s character flaws. Yes, she is very deluded it seems on how to make an honorable go of life. Excuse, excuses all the time and haven’t we all known people like this?
I have a theory about people who can’t seem to bring themselves to admit they are wrong or heaven forbid, apologise for anything. I think they are stuck somhow in a very weak, helpless pleace in their childhoods where they were terrorized and over-harshly punished themselves. Something inside them will not allow them to be put in that position again, of being found to be in the wrong. They have in a sense, never grown up from that point, emotionally.
Anyway, that’s my theory. Of course I’m no psychiatrist like Hottie, nor do I claim to be. But I do keep my eyes open and that’s what I’ve observed.
🙂
SEE! That is what I meant! I never really thought about that! Speaking with you does me some good.
Kdramas I watch, I adore some and others…..yes a waste of brain cells.
Anyways, to lighten this conversation I will re-post this fail!acting attempt by one of my favorite idols, Nichkhun. If you haven’t seen it I hope you enjoy it. He is so…..LOL!
lilibaiyu……JUST TELL ME!!!!!!!!!!
@Mia2
Re: Nichkhun audition or, could I say “audition attempt”
lolol Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear… **laughing laughing laughing**
(OK, OK, be POSITIVE, be POSITIVE, Lili….) Umm…. He certainly has nice hair… lol
LOVE the sweater–~want it!~ Umm….. wow, he’s an American! Cool! Very nice English he speaks,
good diction!
Umm… how’m I doing?
lol
I agree with both of you guys analysis of Miri, sadly she also reminds me of someone in my family. and Nichkhun he so just brightened my MOOD that was hilarious. Encore (watches again).
hahahahahhahahhahahhahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
…..yes ladies, LOL.
I think Nichkhun is a very good idol. He does what is expected of idols, he entertains. He can dance, sing and model. Not superbly but he is not bad and he can play the piano. It seems that improv is not his forte since he has messed up on these kinds of things many times before. He is also quite the sweet-heart but can be short tempered too so he is interesting. He tries and that is what is important………LMAO.
@Mia2
“He tries and that is what is important………LMAO.”
He ~tries~?? lol That’s your criteria for an idol, huh? Well, you are maybe too nice for this world. Now, MY idols on the other hand, have to be up to snuff or they get bounced right out of the rarified firmament ASAP. Take Song Il Guk, for instance. What this man doesn’t have, you don’t need. He’s gorgeous, madly athletic and is routinely cast to play Kings and James Bond-like super-heros. He did unfortunately demonstrate the bad taste and poor judgement to get married a few years back , but we’re mostly over that now. No doubt about it, idol-wise, Song Il Guk rules.
Please don’t mention Song Il Guk. That man is so fine!!!!!! I’ve seen a few pics of his wife. She seems very sweet. I must be demure and friendly looking like her to snag me a man like that. Unfortunately for me I always look like I’m in a bad mood and I have been told by some of my teachers that “socializing is not your thing.” Some were joking….I think.
Wouldn’t it be the best if our social butterfly added this man to his random list of friends? He could help Jae work out his legs….really does the man ever try to do something about that? He isn’t the little flower SM tried to play him off as but he could benefit more if he was proactive about sports like Junsu or something. But then he doesn’t seem to sleep well either. He drives me mad!!!!!
Yes. Maybe I’m too kind to some of the idols. Still he gave you a good laugh right?
@Mia2
“Yes. Maybe I’m too kind to some of the idols. Still he gave you a good laugh right?”
Heck, no! That was all YOU. 🙂
“Wouldn’t it be the best if our social butterfly added this man to his random list of friends? He could help Jae work out his legs….really does the man ever try to do something about that? He isn’t the little flower SM tried to play him off as but he could benefit more if he was proactive about sports like Junsu or something.”
I could be way off base here, but somehow I don’t see SIG and Our Beautiful Creature palling around together trading playful punches and spotting each other on the weight-training machines. The thing about Jae is that he doesn’t appear to be From Around Here… and by this I mean, of course, Planet Earth. We can’t really use any of the normal attributes appearing on the “Idol Checklist” to assess Jae. Either he gets no points whatsoever on some of the items or he scores so off-the-charts that the checklist itself bursts into flames, threatening lives and property.
I can live with the fact that he’s no jock, like Junsu. I like the idea that he sits in his house, talks to his cats and composes songs all day long. But see now….. Song Il Guk… he’d be climbing the walls inside of fifteen minutes doing that. I can just picture him sitting uncomfortably on a corner of Jae’s sofa, nervously eyeing Jiji in the little sweetie’s latest, frilliest outfit…. Awkward!!
“We can’t really use any of the normal attributes appearing on the “Idol Checklist” to assess Jae. Either he gets no points whatsoever on some of the items or he scores so off-the-charts that the checklist itself bursts into flames, threatening lives and property.” Hahahahahaha! That is true. Jae is out there and some people (like Yoochun) just GET him and others…..not so much. Maybe they can be those “we talk when we see each other” friends and not the “hanging out” kind…
They might reference each other for movie roles and nod at each other at those fancy award shows. Argh! Jae! I love you
like crazy but you frustrate me as well! Delightful contradictions! But still Jae, you need to show more leg. Do you want them to shrivel and become ungodly pale? No right? So go do some running and wear shorts every once in awhile.
lili & mia – I have thoroughly enjoyed the conversation between you two. (nothing to add…just wanted to say) ♥ ☮
¡Oh, oh! Miri’s lies are about to be discovered. The “tramp lady” is about to fall.
🙂 🙂 🙂
Oh my, we are so joyful that she is crashing down!!!
Welcome to my club. I thought i am the only one who is dancing. Kekkeekkkkkeeeeeeeeeeee
Oh snap now that the drama is getting close to the climax I’m getting anxious to hurry up and catch up lol!
Seems really interesting.
Finally! It was about tiime!!
Yesss,finally:)I just can’t wait for the next episode.
its his stepmom invited myunghoon..
I think I’ll start watching from this episode. It’s like the moment that everyone is waiting for! Before I just waited for the screen caps to see our handsome Yoochun and I also liked the reading the episode summaries. I’m pretty sure that Miri could have driven me crazy. I seriously wonder how this drama is going to end…
cant wait for the next ep !!!!!!
Me too ^^
@Lilibaiyu
Did you call for the inhouse psychiatrist? She is busy analysing you “off couch” why you are so smitten with 2 completely different male specimens at the same time. Song Il Suk is all man and earth while Jae is all angelic and heaven.
If your taste buds have gone awry, it’s the oral physician you want , not the psychiatrist. Or are you just being greedy ?
And I dont know whether to laugh or cry at your take on Nichkun’s audition. You should have auditioned for Simon Cowell’s place in American Idol..
