The Membership Week event drew 7,024 Japanese fans to Korea. The tourism industry states that the economic effects from the Japanese visitors that entered the country for Membership Week amount to more than NT$ 2.6 billion.

Taiwan media ( eg this Apple dialy) , the captions always highlight with the money-spinner, how giant , how quick the income is earned. This brings negative images to non-fans in the society.
Don’t forget the economy is just ” so & so ” over the region, arouses jealousy is not necessary!

While I was glad that this news is featured in Taiwanese TV, but somehow I agree with you, the news is more on focused on how much money that so called Hallyu is making, and I understand your concern.

the news should have emphasized that this event is a free fan service and JYJ/Cjes are not making any direct profit, only the SK tourism industry is making NT$ 2.6 billion not JYJ.

Don’t let the negative comments from some mean forums spread and make it sounds otherwise.
