A special music show to celebrate Kim Junsu’s mini-album ‘Just Yesterday’ release was held at Hyundai Card Music Library in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of October 15.
On this day Kim Junsu explained about his title track ‘Just Yesterday’, “It is the first time with a lyrical ballad for a title as my solo. It’s a challenge but not an unusual challenge. I decided it as the title because it’s a song you can feel the taste of autumn”.
Kim Junsu added, “This is the first time the famous Sim Kyu Seon(Lucia)-ssi wrote a song for another singer,” and, “It is a song that I sung and a song with a different ambiance. It is full of sadness and perplexity but it is beautiful if you examine the lyrics. It will be as if looking at a love letter that a man handed to a woman”.
Kim Junsu’s title track ‘Just Yesterday’ of the same name to his new mini-album was completed as a sad ballad consisting of a sensible voice unique to Kim Junsu as a song written and composed by singer-songwriter Sim Kyu Seon.
In addition there are available 8 songs of a variety of genres: from dance and hip-hop songs that his performances of ‘OeO’, ‘Midnight Show’, ‘Silk Road’ and such are anticipated; up to his past regular albums’ title tracks ‘Tarantallegra’, ‘Incredible’, and ‘Flower”s acoustic versions.
XIA Junsu also said, “I feel I should tell all my fans that I’m so sorry that you are coming to see me do a concert without new songs. Although I was pressed for time, I made a mini-album and wanted it to be heard at my concert”.
Continuing, he elaborated, “I have really a lot of songs that you’ll see squeezed into this concert’s cue sheet. There were times I had to manage with different songs since I didn’t have song by me actually when I was doing a solo concert at first. Now I am proud of myself that I can choose a song with ease on my own”.
Furthermore he requested, “After I selected good songs in the various genres of ambience to have a degree of completion as much, I ask that you look forward to it”.
He cleared up the mystery of ‘OeO’, “It has a lot of dance music that is based upon hip-hop and it is a song based on EDM(electronic dance music) the most among my songs up to now”.
And “EDM is a general trend in clubs these days. Also, it is not a current trend where DJs are creating music and making a lot of producing album, and singers do featurings but this song in a club is a track won’t have a sense of incompatibility when coming out. I tried mixing to adjust the focus in the EDM sound”.
Kim Junsu even spoke about ‘Silk Road’ that he has the most attachment to, “It is one of the tracks I created to be played like a bonus track. The humorous lyrics is its distinct characteristic”. ‘Silk Road’ has wit expressing love between a man and a woman and the Silk Road. Its bold lyrics is eye-catching.
Following, he evoked laughter, confessing “It covers my voice in a sitar, a traditional instrument of India. Images of trade merchants who traverses continents, will float up. I had started with the Silk Road at first, and was vocalizing about the Silk Road funnily. Fans will say ‘tears are flowing from the title’ when they open the tracklist and I am very sorry. Everybody will be deceived”.
Adding, he revealed uncommon affection, with “It deals with a man’s desire about his first love”.

Thank you~
There are so many, translated to Japanese as well~~ i thought you’d translate most of them, but now i’ve realized there’s just too many ><
Hats off to you for doing even four of them! 👍🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you rilanna for your hard work 🙂 .
That makes me even more excited for the album I don’t know why junsu would apologize to us we are the luckiest fans to have a hard working talented creative artist who’s been continuously surprising us with high quality music and taking unexpected challenges. we are the one to apologize to you junsu because you deserve more than what we give you ❤
I don’t understand why he apologize either, I love Tarantallegra , Incredible and Flower. I think its because he is perfectionist he thinks all his Album tracks must be new songs. But its okay for an album to contain some previous songs too, I think it’s normal. He is just too perfect, he can’t see he is doing more than enough.
Junsu, no need to apologize for letting us hear your sweet voice as often as possible; you chose these songs for yourself and us…that’s enough for us ❤
Whoa, that hairstyle just took years off him. He looks so young.
I love his fringe down hairstyle, that and side president from Taran days.
His down hairstyle reflects his softness.
He looks cool on the haircut 😃
JS do not need to apologize I feel like the luckiest and happiest fan on earth to get a chance to hear him sing anything!!! JS look so handsome, cute, young and stylish!!!! The color and style of his hair is so hot to me!!! I deeply love all of these pics!!!!
I love your comment.
Thank you!!!
Yes, Junsu it is perhaps time to leave the rainbow hair behind. These photos are wonderful. The mature man of great talent you have become.
Been thinking of this today….would anybody else besides me love for Junsu to do Andrew Lloyd Weber’s….Phanthom of the Opra? Yes, I know it has been around a long time, but I think Junsu would make an incredible Phanthom. I can almost hear him now…Floating, falling, sweet intoxication..touch me, trust me, savour each sensation…let the dream begin, let your darker side give in…to the power of the music that I write…the power of the ‘Music of the Night’…That is Junsu!!!
oh yeah! i got warm all over just reading your comment and visualizing him singing those songs “Floating, falling, sweet intoxication..touch me, trust me, savour each sensation…let the dream begin, let your darker side give in…to the power of the music that I write…the power of the ‘Music of the Night’…That is Junsu!!!”
Koreamom…so glad you agree. Do you think Junsu could have been inspired by these words from Phantom/Music of the Night?
i wonder-it is possible
love his hair, and his softer dress style. i will never get tired of hearing those songs so no apologies needed. we just love YOU!
