Somebody, please help me understand this. We are looking at the same picture. Why is it that when I look at it, I see a Jaejoong such as I have never seen: forlorn and desperate, distressed and hopeless. A Jaejoong whose heart is bleeding, whose face is asking: what now? What have I done? What can I do? And my heart bleeds with his and I want to hug him and tell him, “Please, do not read those hateful comments, those are the baleful belchings of evil, ugly people who have no decency left in their soul and whose only pleasure in life is to destroy the life of others. But you have done nothing wrong, to the contrary, you are an inspiration and a role model.”
That’s how I feel, but then, others looking at the same picture see him in a happy soldier mood, when he was singing and dancing and go and re-live those happy moments. But judging by that picture, it seems to me, not all his soldier moments were happy moments, except that he tactfully hid them from his fans as he didn’t want to worry us.
His brows definitely look furrowed, as if he’s in deep thought or he has something on his mind that he can’t shake off. I believe you when you say that he tries to hide his feelings from his fans (he’s said this at one of the concerts: there are things he cannot tell us) but if I ever meet him down the street somewhere, I want to go up to him and pat his head and tell him, “You are doing a fine job. Keep going.”
@ misaki008 Thank you for your response. I do not think there is even need for interpretation of what this photograph means. Jaejoong has interpreted it himself by saying: “Currently my mind is in this state” and showing that forlorn looking face. Who can look at this face and think it’s a happy face? If that’s a happy face, it makes me wonder what a sad face would look like. If I went home having a face like that and my mum, instead of asking me what went wrong and trying to comfort me, starts playing videos to show me how happy I was last year when I was wearing that same dress, it will distress me even more.
What we might misinterpret is speculation about what caused this unhappy face: was it all those negative netizens’ comments that prompted CJeS to take legal action; was it a new rejection to a request to appear on TV? Or was it even the shocking news he hears from the media about YC’s impending wedding and what it might mean to both YC and JYJ? We can endlessly speculate and we may never know the reason for that puzzled face, because, as you said, he protects his fans from unpleasant hardships, carrying the burden on his own shoulders. So, he took down the picture as it did not serve its purpose.
Please, do not comment on my this post, as you risk being labeled a tantrum thrower.
I’m with you Anna Liza, I think the frownie face and the NO is about the netizens comments and posts and the subsequent law suits toward those maligners who want to dredge up the SM issues again. Jaejoong had to remember this photo…find it…post it. So there was thought given to the posting of it. What he wanted to express….we’ll probably never know. But I really hope these post were not concerning Yuchun. Wouldn’t you think JJ would be happy for Yuchun….unless he knows something….there again…we’ll never know. The mystery deepens. Jaejoongie, why give us such a mystery? I really think Yuchun would have told JJ of any serious relationship he was having. I’d think JJ has met her. And if not met as of yet….Yuchun surely at the least would have called JJ and told him how serious he felt toward this woman and that he may feel strongly enough to marry her. Why presume it was a surprise to JJ just because it was to us! Like Kris, though, I did think of better times at GFF 2015! Whoever made that video needs a reward for giving us such a VIEW of JJ ‼️
@Georgia Peach Don’t misunderstand me, I too love the 2015 GFF. I remember, I even posted some songs here at the time and continue listening to them. However, I cannot understand how that miserable army photo can bring happy memories. Jaejoong’s mood is not open for interpretation – he has clearly stated it: “Currently my mind is in this state” then he thought of what photo might best illustrate his foul mood, and as you said, “he had to remember this photo…find it…post it.” And it happens to be an army photo, and that army photo shows he wasn’t always in the happiest of moods while there. But then, instead of worrying what is bothering his mind, we bring our chairs to be entertained by Captain America, no Captain Korea. Well, that time has gone and he wasn’t particularly happy about going to the army and will not go back there, except for the compulsory refresher calls.
There have been three consecutive instagrams where he has shown some distress. In the previous one he shows the readings on the thread mill and he says he has to punish his body which has idled too long. Now, you were at his concert, you saw him running kilometers on that stage, How much sweat did he wipe out? Is that an idle body? The readings show heart rate of 190. You have some medical training, You know this is over three times the normal heartbeat of a professional athlete. He is running on an incline which is harder than on level. Calories used – 450, which is running at least 4 miles.
I can imagine he thought we would be happy that he has started training but no, there are comments that he is only burning fat, not bulking up his muscles. We want captain Korea. Well, what for does he need those bulky muscles? He needed them in the army when he had to carry a 40 kg bag on his back and do night reconnaissance or push and carry heavy armaments. But he is no longer in the army, so he cannot and need not be a captain.
It is like training a long distance runner to be a weight lifter. You use different muscles for weight lifting than for long distance running. Just have a look at all those long distance or marathon runners – they all have long slim bodies and limbs.
Do we need to tell him what to eat and how to train?. Are we his mothers? He has been taking care of himself since he was 14 years old. And he did pretty well for himself. Now he has personal trainers, dietitians, dermatologists, managers, lots of people who can give him better advice.
Yes, you are right, we, most probably shall not know what was the real cause of his mood. We can only speculate about the causes. But how can we misinterpret his state of mind when he so clearly illustrates it and says that he is punishing his body, not to forget that in a recent interview he said he punishes his body by starving after showing his fans how much food he eats because they like it.
Conclusion: he makes us happy and we feel no qualms that so as to make us happy he has to punish himself.
Having made a clean chest out of it, I think I shall now go back to my vacation and take a break for a while. If you read all this, you are a hero. Happy Easter. 🙂
