Yayoi Kusama (, born March 22, 1929) is a Japanese artist and writer in a wide variety of media, including painting, collage, sculpture, performance art and environmental installations, became the first Japanese woman to receive the Praemium Imperiale, one of Japan’s most prestigious prizes for internationally recognized artists .
And wow, as of 2012, her work has the highest turnover of any living woman artist and her work is in the collections of leading museums throughout the world.
Thank you for sharing this video clip. I recognized the name but couldn’t place her, but after watching this clip and saw her with long hippie hair in traditional Japan, I remembered. I read about her a while ago when doing research on John Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, who is also an avant-garde artist.
It’s so very interesting that Jaejoong shared this with us. He is like those two artists in that he does not live in a box (expectation of society). I think their minds are on a different level, very free spirited…….. (sometimes society can be very cruel to these type individuals, until realization that they are….creative geniuses? idk but I’m glad he has so much love from many around the world)

Last past days,my phone has some problem using internet. So,i can’t watch this web and so miss all jyjers. But now i’m ok, thanks for your worry friend.
Also…wow… just read… Kusama is also linked to the brilliant Musician/Humanitarian Peter Gabriel (researched him after taking my grandson to see Wall-E, he wrote the song for soundtrack of the movie). A truly amazing man.

Ah, that’s the polka dots lady right… I remember her collaboration with Louis Vuitton a while back. It was very… interesting / bizarre, depending on how you look at it. 😡
Omg jaejoong is totally reading my mind! I was lookin for the name of this old japanese lazy designer that i came across from a magz. I remember her face and design and all, but couldnt remember her name, SO THANK YOU JAEJOONG YOU’RE OH SO WONDERFUL.

Kosama Yayoi…. I have no idea who she is 😦 Gosh, my knowledge about things like this are beyond zero. I remember when JJ used this one robotic pic as his twitter dp and everyone seems to know the guy who did it except for me…. *runs away*
She seems to be very famous, judging from what I read. Glad to know about her ❤ ❤ ❤

In all honesty, I was thinking why this two pictures are genius?! If someone maybe can explain it to me, I really don’t know anything about art, so I’d be very grateful to learn something new (⌒∇⌒) Thanks in advance (⌒‿⌒)
it doesn’t really matter at all if you don’t know the name of someone’s work in something you’re not interested in .
Jaejoong is just sharing some of his stuff and we could be interested or not .
